In this clip from Knicks LIVE, special guest Ron with @stillknicksfans and Troy have a discussion about the Knicks possibly playing Julius Randle at the center position during games. While it could be advantageous, it would likely cause more issues for NY switching a player's natural position. However, NBA Insider John Holinger believes that NY would be an even bigger force if they made this change... Troy Mahabir & Ron break all of this down!

Randle at the 5 against Boston and Miami works. Porzingus kills the Knicks because our bigs are uncomfortable playing beyond the arc. You can play Randle to play that better and then offensively…. If you thought Hartenstein was a threat, Randle creates a million problems in that lineup. If you double, open 3’s all game, and if you don’t, who guarding him 1 on 1?

Randle played the 5 in LA his last year for a stretch and they went on a winning streak.

Well when Robinson out final 10 minutes should be Randle Anunoby Hart or Bridges Bridges or Divencenzo and Brunson depends on the match up it would be the best lineup based on the Roster

They Should Have Experimented With It Already For Real…Especially When Teams Was Using The Small Ball Like The Warriors And Other Teams Did To Perfection Awhile Ago!

I guess nobody watched JR30s interview on PG13s podcast where he said, "I hate playing Center, " "I almost quit basketball in HS because my coach made me play Center." "I want no part of it." These are his words, not mine. What is Hollinger talking about. Let's give Robinson the opportunity to have a good season. Also it makes no sense

Let's exhale, calm down, and let the off-season and reg season play out. SMH.

Randle at the 5 in the starting lineup is total buffoonery

They should go small but in the middle of the game not to start the game

That’s what these summertime practice games are for…. We can try this during these next few games coming up… I personally would like to see this strategy tried out…

In certain situations Randle at the 5 is perfectly fine. Every tram doesn't play big. If Dramond Green can play the 5 than Randle can for sure. You just play him at the 5 in emergency situations...

We can take Dmytro Skap into the main team. Dude played well in g league, no worse than Sims.

For final offensive posession at end of quarter, use Rsndall there.

Willis Reed played the 5 at 6'9" when the game ran through the center. Kareem hated playing against Willis. Randle at the 5 could draw the other teams center away from the rim. His physical play style could also get opposing centers in foul trouble. Is it ideal, no. It's certainly better then most of the stiffs you want.

I wouldnt play Mitch on back to back games. Starting someone else at center would be fine in those scenarios.

They could do that if they have a big lead or in game they can have a good chance of winning. It could help save Mitch for the playoffs. This lineup in the playoffs will fail based on the sound of it but it can strategic to save Mitch for the playoffs.

It’s an options..

But it would have to be more of matchup/gameplan thing

In today’s NBA, it’s doable. But if you run into a team with center at 7, PF at 6-8 up to 6-10, it will be an issue to tackle.

Experiment and scout until the deadline. We definitely need a 5. Randle is not the guy- he sits outside the 3 point line a little less than half the time … that’s no 5. Fans who try to say he plays bullyball, haven’t watched 80-2010 bullyball.

THIS IS WHY I HAVE BEEN SAYING FOR THEM TO DEVELOPE MITCH AND SIMS BY GIVING THEM POST MOVES (BACKING DOWN THEIR DEFENDER WITH SPINNING via Amar'e Stoudemire). if they do that, we would not be having any talk about Randle playing the 5.

Even the 96 bulls went small from time to time
Rodman
Kukoc
Pippen
Jordan
Harper or kerr

It should be Randle at the 5 on offense and the 4 on defense with OG at the 5 with help from the rest of the team unless is denver, Minnesota, and some Philadelphia minutes
