What to Teach Your Puppy First

In this video we will share what 3 things to teach your puppy first. Raising a new puppy is fun and exciting, but what should you be teaching your puppy first and why. Before teaching your new puppy any cute tricks you want to make sure your dog has the basics down.

Training a puppy can be as difficult as training a baby. One of the main tips anyone can use is to be consistent in your training methods. There are many different methods you can use to train your puppy and some work better for certain pets than others.

Your puppy is young and is learning every day, so you will have a better chance of them learning faster if you do the same thing at least 3 times a day, every day. Consistency is key to having a well trained puppy.

Here are the first 3 things you should be focusing on when training a new puppy:

#1 The very first thing you should teach your puppy is his name.

#2 The second thing you should teach your puppy is to look at you. His attention should be focused on you. If you teach your puppy to pay attention to you before moving on to other training you will have more success with his future training lessons.

#3 Once your puppy knows his name and to look at you for direction, the next thing you should teach your puppy to sit. You should teach your puppy to sit before teaching them other tricks.

So to recap, the first things you want to teach your puppy is his name, to look at you and to sit. Make the puppy training sessions 5-10 minutes long, at least 3 times a day for 7 days before moving onto other training.
