I don't have to teach my dog to spin. Whenever she's excited, she spins.

My dogs know two commands, one for a clockwise rotation, "spin", and one for a counterclockwise rotation, "twirl", and it's fun to challenge my star dog with giving the commands quickly so he has to figure it out fast, and turn the correct way

My dog was spinning by herself, from excitement, so I used the opportunity, added a hand signal and words, and that is how she learned the command. No treats. She found treats too exciting and distracting, no learning was done with treats, just praise. She now is tri-lingual (two languages and hand signals). Smart girl.

Mine now does that when she’s confused about the command we gave her. She also does it every time she receives the stand command, but honestly as long as she stands I’ll be fine with it.

i taught my puppy spin mostly with toys so it's something i use to build excitement before i throw a toy, she lovessss it :)
