In this video we answer the question does JB Weld work on plastic. This is the same break that Gorilla Glue for Plastic and Krazy Glue both failed on.

What plastic piece are you tempted to use JB Weld on? Plastic fan blade or fan shroud?

Years ago, I used original JB Weld on a Metal. gas tank. My daughter had backed the car over something, and it put a crease and tear in the tank that was about 4. to 5 inches long. I siphoned all the gas that I could and let the leak drip until. most of the gas was gone. I sanded down the area. and put a nice. application of J. B. Weld on there. It worked perfectly and never leaked again for many. years. When I sold the car, it was still on there and working perfect.

Thank you for making this video. I am planning to make a prop/replica, and needed to find a good adhesive that I could connect plastic and metal too, your video shows that it will obviously hold very well to plastic which makes me confident I have found what I need. Thank you!

Thank you for this efficient video, great explanation and not too lengthy! Says it all in under 3 min!

I prefer plastic welding for accessible areas...just so I know I'll never have to fix it again. I only use the bonder for hard to reach areas but always in conjunction with plastic welder. Welding kit is the cheapest fix...harbor freight for $5 when on sale. Been using that tool for years...love it.

Thumbs up: Ah, the JBW plastic prophecy. I hope this works on gluing an aluminum car-door-shell portion to it's plastic interior. I'll try it (with a large C-clamp for 24 hours) fwiw. Utmost blessings!

That’s excellent. Now try this with polyethylene or polypropylene.

Never hurts to make a plastic mold out of left over packaging or masking tape over cardboard if you need to make a flat surface or to add extra material.

Jb weld is also sandable and paintable

I mix and spread out JB Weld with a faying tool made from polyethylene or nylon resin and what is left on the tool sticks so well I can't pop it off with an X-ACTO blade

I had it when my tools break like that. You can also cast that in silicone and cast a new one with tough cast

Why did you mix it on a porous material like cardboard? With the abundance of plastic wrappers on everything wouldn't it be better to mix on something non-porous.. Thanks for making the video!

The plastic shroud with blades in it in my dishwasher's water circulation pump has seperated from the electro motor itself and so far most glues I tried have failed holding it together after only a few weeks. JB weld will be my final attempt at fixing it before I decide to buy a new pump or complete dishwasher, lets hope it works

There are many different types of plastic, many are not compatible with others, check the # on the bottom of piece

i have this same black JB beld and need to use it on a blue garbage bin hinge area that broke loose. I wonder if i could add some kind of blue dye to the black or maybe i can just paint it blue if it looks ugly but dont think it should matter to much. Also you can sand it down for that seepage perhaps?
