JB Weld SteelStik is different from JB Weld Original Cold Steel. SteelStik has a faster set time (5 minutes vs 4-6 hours) and cure time (1 hour vs 24 hours). SteelStik is also rated to be stronger than Original Cold Steel (900 pounds per square inch vs 680 psi). So far, I am impressed.

If this video saves you time, money, or both perhaps you’d consider buying me a coffee (or a slice or a Pepsi). Anything is appreciated.

I think the package says to wear gloves as you knead the putty… the heat is from the chemical reaction….

GLOVES must be worn - the product states this fact in bold text

Did this improperly and then you posted a follow-up about how it isn't as good as advertised. You didn't prep the surfaces as required under the instructions. You also only press the painted smooth ring onto the top of the putty which is why it didn't hold. Had you drilled a 1/4 inch hole on the inside or bottom of the ring, pressed a small amount into the hole, then pressed it onto the mount you made on the legs then it would've held and would've been able to support your full body weight. Another way is to make a ring of putty around the ring and then sticking it to the leg would lock it to the knob on the leg permanently. Reading the instructions before making a how to video should be obvious.

Next time wet your fingers a bit that will stop it from sticking to the finger and make it more malleable. You can also then wet a finger and smooth it once it is in place

I had to use this as an emergency on my fuel line. That was leaking and it worked awesome... It's a must have on long trips on older vehicles just saying

It should be noted that touching this is not advised with bare skin.

you've got glasses brother ignore the gloves comments. eating the chemical debris is much more survivable than getting even the smallest amount in your eyes transferred from your fingers haha no but seriously. cut corners just wash up but contacts wearers especially even trace amounts on your fingers tips you'll feel it

Did this guy purposefully tell us it's a skin irritant while kneading it with barehands? lol!!

People, please be smart and use gloves when you touch chemicals...

I used this today. I feel like there should have been a practice session first. It got hard very fast, which meant I had to rush through my repair. I was a bit short of product so I have to buy more and finish. It seems to work, but can't be sure until it's done

Waste no time once you feel the endothermic reaction because it cures wicked fast. Also, have some kind of powder on hand to lightly coat the pads of your fingers when the putty gets to sticky during application and ceases to release onto the repair surface.

The two part epoxy cold weld is rated for 3960 to 5020psi, the steel-stick is rated for 900PSI.
Surely that means the two part is better?

You wouldn't use your knife to cut it but yet you use your bare fingers to mix it together? smh

Probably a good idea to either strip the paint off or grind down to bare metal

😂😅 no gloves... just keep an eye on any sores or growths that might occur because of this exposure. Your skin absorbs things. Also, it is an organ of the body, and you can not live without it😮 Let's treat it with respect, please. The year is 2024, not 1824.

Is no one going to talk about how much this stinks? Smells like burning hair!

The more YouTube I watch, the more I’m convinced there’s a worldwide gloves shortage

The newer version seems to be much stronger as it is up to 350deg and 4000 psi, works great so far.

Drill holes and install screws. Cheaper and 10 times stronger.
