It's funny how some people feel buyer's remorse a lot, perhaps sometimes even too much, but other people don't feel it much at all. I'm more the type of person who feels it a lot. Especially for somewhat larger purchases, like anything that is a few hundred bucks or more. I'm a musician and I play acoustic guitar, and just this year I bought a really cool vintage acoustic guitar, and I really like it, but in retrospect it wasn't necisary, because now that I am more educated I realize for a smaller investment I could have bought a really nice good quality used modern guitar from a different brand, but vintage guitars just tend to appreciate somewhat in value due to their rarity and unique character, thus fetching a higher price. I could always sell the vintage guitar, but I may not be able to get what I payed for it depending on the market. Sometimes when I get bored with life I end up buying things on a whim, but later I can feel a bit remorseful about it if I realize I didn't really need it in the first place. For that reason, it is best for me to take more time to think if I really want to buy something, to avoid buying things on impulse.

I spend $5 on something and feel horrible for literally no reason, despite having literally amazing self control and having preemptively established that I'll feel bad

I think I simply have anxiety or something. Our 15 year old dishwasher died. It cannot be fixed for under the price of a mid range new one. We need a new one. We set aside a budget for it. I have researched and compared different brands. I've researched features. I've talked to owners of new dishwashers. I've looked at different stores. I've physically looked at so many store display dishwashers.

I finally purchased one yesterday, came in about $150 under budget, and now I'm up at 3 in the morning looking up videos about buyer's remorse... 😫

I’m so used to just living paycheck to paycheck, paying bills and I finally had a few dollars to buy myself a coat for winter and the only thing I could think of was am I missing a bill that needs to be paid 😢. I don’t buy myself things to often.

I’m feeling remorse over buying a Nintendo switch oled, thinking I would need it on my 6 hour flight to LA (which I booked thanks to Wolter lol) and I haven’t even taken it out of the box thinking that I might return it tomorrow

That´s why I googled for "Buyer guilt".

Hi professor Wolters! I am Julia, from Russia. I learn English on Bob's short lessons channel and he gave the phrase" buyer's remorse" so I wanted to know more about it and I found that phrase on your channel! I really liked the way how you explain it! I slowed down the video a bit and turned on the subtitles so I could understand! And I would like to say thank you!

I started watching these travel videos and then I started watching these other videos and now I'm being called a marketer and I'm learning things, but I graduated college like ten years ago and told myself I'd stop learning at that point, so now I'm sitting here after spending 4:44 minutes of my life watching this at 1:29am and I just don't know how I feel about it.

lol, jk. I love all of your videos!

I don’t know how to tackle this. I keep on returning things because of this issue.

Great video. I spent $2500 on a entire computer set up. Yeah I get work done on it, and I can play a few games but it hit me hard the night of the purchase, and still does. Like, did I really need something so expensive? Ugh I can’t go back in time but I wish I could 🤷🏻‍♂️
