But yeah spartans still hunted their slaves as a ritual for new spartans. And slaves are still slaves.

This did change in the future. Helot slaves were the worst treated in all of Greece. Spartans maintained such a militarized society in the event that they may rise up and overthrow them. They even had a secret police called the Cryptea to surveil and kill their population. It lead an Athenian to say about Sparta “In Sparta a free man was at his freest and a slave at his most despair.” As well as Sparta having a dual monarchy which was hereditary though not absolute as a council of elders made most decisions regarding the kingdom.

Leonidas: you threaten my people with Slavery and death

That whole “they were good to their slaves” thing goes out the window when you realize that they literally hunted them in a ritual manner. And slaves are still people deprived of even the most basic of human respect. Yikes.

What? The treatment of the Helots, the Spartan slaves, was atrocious, not just by modern standards, but even by the standards of the time. One of the main reasons Sparta was so militarized was because of the constant threat posed by slave rebellions, due to their maltreatment.

Imagine robbing the wrong lady in spartan society just for her to pull out a sword and yell "THIS IS SPARTA!!!!"

This video is extremely misleading. Sparta was monarchy (more specifically, a dual monarchy)... also Spartans killed Helots for sport. This is all VERY well documented. Which sources did you use?

The words ‘Spartans’ and ‘generous’ don’t belong in the same sentence.

An Athenian was showing off to a Spartan. The Athenian bragged about all of his Athenian guests. "That man makes the best wine, that man has written so many books; that man is the greatest sculptor; that man is the greatest painter, singer, fashion etc. The Spartan thought and looked around and spotted another of his Spartans. He pointed him out to the Athenian and said, "That man there, he makes the best soup."

The gender equality to be both servants of the State. There is no concept of freedom or personal identity in Sparta every Spartan serves the State.
