What I've found is that initially it was hard for me to identify with most people. This was depressing at first. But now those feelings have subsided. I'm perfectly fine with not being able to connect with most people. What is now normal... seems to be very unhealthy.

I feel like you’re an actual friend of mine Dan. This era is pretty wild. We used to be molded by the 5 people closest to us in a physical reality. Now we can choose who we are molded by from anyone just through youtube videos. Sure there were books before, but I feel like videos hit different. This is gonna have some seriously awesome implications in the coming decades as young minds will consciously or unconsciously get molded into a seemingly infinite array of possibilities, for better and for worse.

Another amazing video, Dan! I've written a summary on NPCs and Main Character, perhaps, it will benefit others too:
*NPC*
0:43 NPC never questions the path
4:55 NPC perspective is very narrow
6:30 NPC doesn't do new actions
12:43 NPC isn't conscious of the decisions

*Main Character*
1:46 Main character takes control of life
9:00 Main character sets new goals and works towards them
12:43 Main character is conscious of decisions
13:15 Main character creates a new perspective on problems
16:01 Main character follows 3-5 authors/youtubers to change the perspective
17:07 Main character learns from the mistakes
18:27 Main character creates more than consumes

I've had a bad day but I'm glad I clicked on this video. The things you said about being conscious, making a conscious choice, it's made me pay attention to the narrative I have in my head around this day and around the things going on right now that I can't deal with. I can make a choice, I don't have to do what I automatically do in situations like this and shut down. I can be the main character instead of being a victim of my own thoughts/circumstances. I'm going for a walk

This guy is a prime example of an NPC. The modern internet NPC preaches challenging your beliefs except for when it comes to “success”. It’s always 100% about business and making money. This is the same programming with different style.

Very practical advice! I'm in the trial and error phase now after waking up to my bad programming. I changed everything in my life. I now exercise every day, read every day, meditate every day and I am excited about discovering my definite purpose so I can direct my energy to that. Thank you for sharing your journey, Dan!

life is multiplayer game, I don't like to look down of people callin them NPCs. everyone has their own story, and some people make suboptimal decisions; but u can update the script any time and keep trying. we can all be main characters if we try for it

YOU are the YouTuber I cannot stop listening to! I’ve written my entire textbook for my first course of my academy-in-the-making. I do not allow any distraction during my 3- hour writing window. I’m thinking about taking your course!

You are indeed the average of the 5 people that influence you the most nowadays and I'm glad that you're one of those. My personal development has skyrocketed since I discovered your channel. 2023 is the year we're all gonna make it 🤝🏼

I'm 38 unemployed, broken no esteem or self belief or confidence.

Worked previously in IT over 15 years but something just happened to me and I lost my way.

I'm really stuck in life like don't know what I want to do or what to purse hell I don't even though what I'm passionate about. It's like I have this constant apathy and can't focus on anything.

Need serious guidance and help brothers I'm at my wits end. Thank you

Wonder how many NPC's are watching this, thinking they're players, yet go back to their NPC living after the video is over.

Easily my favorite channel. This guy thinks exactly like I do. Got rid of all the other channels I use for self improvement. This video opened my eyes to it all honestly. But his community posts are all over my photo roll now lmao

Dan, every video content you publish, I listen to. Even while I'm meal-prepping on weekends. Heck, I feel like I know you well. Thanks for your valuable content man. You inspire me for real. 👍👍👍

Your content simply blew my mind. I've been practicing self-awareness for the past 2 years and finally today I'm at a point where I'm starting to look for another professional path that has to do with what you said: capturing the chaos, the mess, realigning and extracting the learning from this. And not simply having a 9-6 job and enjoying the 2 hours at night doing what I really like. It's absurdly powerful what this mental programming does and acts with 95% of the world's population. And it's not easy to break out of this bubble, but I'm definitely getting there after 2 years. Thank you for the content, very enlightening! Cheers from Brazil
