I Drank Raw Milk Kefir For 30 Days | Here's What Happened

I drank raw milk kefir for 30 days and here's what happened - read on below.

What happened? My digestion improved noticeably. As a result of consuming raw milk kefir daily, I could actually tolerate and digest foods that I previously hadn't been able to.

The best example of this was nuts. I was able to consume large amounts of nuts for the first time in years. I would NOT recommend consuming large amounts of nuts to anyone with autoimmune disease or any chronic illness for that matter, I'm just making a point of how good my digestion became.

I did not experience any negative effects.

I will soon experiment with pasteurized milk from A2 cows and let you know what the outcome is. If it's well tolerated, well then this is a big of a game changer for people with ulcerative colitis & Crohn's disease.

Pro tip: Do not consume milk that is from cows that produce the A1 protein. Use only RAW milk from A2 cows.

Alternatively use sheep or goat's milk as sheep and goats produce primarily the A2 protein.

Pro tip 2: Hyper-ferment (yeah I made that word up) your kefir.. that means leave it to ferment for MORE than 24 hours, and up to 48 hours. This is enough time for all of the lactose in the milk AND the casein to break down. The kefir grains are capable of digesting the casein in the milk if left for long enough. This is helped by the acidity of the fermentation process which increases the LONGER you leave the kefir.

Pro tip 3: Plan your milk deliveries if you live in a state / country where raw milk is regulated and can only be sold in certain places / ways. This will mean you don't have to go without for X days or weeks.

Good information! I am also making highly fermented raw mild kefir with amazing results (healed autoimmune symptoms of arthritis, chronic fatigue, brain fog). May I make one suggestion though: to really heal your gut, simplify your diet and avoid sugar (except on very special occassions). I eat mostly high quality grass fed beef and lamb with green leafy vegetables, and the kefir, and THAT'S ALL! I'm 66 and I've never felt better.

I have been using raw milk kefir for about 6 months. I've seen many changes. However, I feel the most staggering changes have been in my skin, hair, and mental health. It takes a while for the mental benefits to kick in however I have noticed I am much more calmer, I remember things easier and in general things which used to bother me alot do not get to me as much. Truly, it's a life changing food.

I love my homemade kefir, I discovered it about 6 months ago, and after 5-6 wks I had stopped taking meds for aching joints and generalized inflammatory discomfort. I also felt like my digestion was better, but that's not a big complaint of mine. Then for certain reasons ( I ruined my grains, long story) I didnt drink any kefir for about 5 weeks and almost the second day my shoulders and back started aching again and have continuously since (I've started back on kefir again about 6 days ago and I'll try to NEVER go without it again!!) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! and you did a nice job with this video

Yes Steven, kefir is fantastic for your health. I use to have trouble going to the toilet and sometimes i would wait for almost a week as i suffered constipation, i now drink kafir every morning and within 3 hours i need to go and sometimes even twice or three times a day. I also make my kombucha tea and i have a glass during the day, i find drinking both items makes my tummy settle and i don't feel bloated anymore. Also i don't eat as much because i feel full after drinking the kefir. I hope more people take up this fantastic gut cleansing and your never too old to start it as i am almost 70 and never felt better. Good luck to all and thanks Steven for caring 🥰

I have had crohn's for almost 20 years. I went the doctor route mixing some things I seen on the internet with not luck. I just kept getting worse year by year. I've been on iv Remicade treatments for I think 12 years. I almost gave up and had to stop my job of 25 years because of it a few years ago. It was a very dark place for me. Anyway I found some information on raw milk and making yogurt from it. I put it into an instant pot set temp at 104 degrees then walk away from it for 24 hours. I mix it in a blender with blueberries heat it slowly on the stove to 100 to 105 degrees then drink it. I read not to let it get above 116 degrees I think it was so I don't kill all the goodies in raw milk. I've been doing it for a few months now and slowly been getting better!! Many signs of improvement but still have a ways to go. It's been so long since I've felt good I truly don't remember what it felt like to be healthy. I mix it all with prayer and it's working for me. Hope this helps someone it really sucks to be sick. God bless

Just in case, I think it'd be good to let people know they might need to start slowly adding Kefir into their diet. It is loaded with probiotics and it might take their bodies awhile to get used to it. I recommend 1-2 tablespoons per day, in fact I'm going to start out every other day, and then slowly go up from there.

I've been making raw milk kefir for many years. I love it. I use a straining cap, that would be used on a sprouting jar, to separate and pour off the kefir. I use the red middle size cap. This makes it so easy to manage. I also only make one serving for myself per day, discarding or giving away any extra grains to keep my production easy. In addition, there is a difference between cows with A2 vs A1 protein, A2 being easier to digest. Much of the milk sold in the US is a combination of these A1 and A2 proteins, but if you get your milk from a Jersey cow farm - the milk will be all A2.

Homemade Kefir and Homemade Bone broth has healed my tummy :)

I used to be constipated and bloated even when i drank water, gained weight cause of poor digestion and docs only gave me stuoid meds that gave me temporary relief.

I did my research online on probiotics food and came across bone broth and kefir. I recently tried making ym own kombucha too but i didnt like it.

Anyways, I have lost 15kg in 3 months [i walked 8-10 miles daily] and also do intermittent fasting 20/4.

I have slight ab definition but the main point is i have normal BMI and not obese :)

I have been making kefir from the A2 brand milk for several months, I always do a 48 hour ferment and the kefir comes out very thick, sour and very delicious. My grains are actually propagating faster than when I was using regular vitamin D milk.

A week ago I got into milk kefir and making my own. Is it safe to drink 3-5 cups a day? I have been drinking 3-5 cups for the last few days, I do not see any issues. I am on keto diet.

I don't know because I haven't seen the science but I heard from a credible source that the A1 or A2 is related to what the cows eat rather than the cattle breed. Grass fed equals A2.

I live in South Africa and we have a cultured milk drink here called Amazi or Maas. I've been using it for a few days now with good results. Hope I manage to cure colitis by using it. Nothing else has worked.

I accidentally ate a lot of kefir and my system immediately got better. I was in bad state after a bowel infection, and helped me to gain some tolerance again.

Try taking the excess kefir grains with a few gulps of water like a probiotic capsule or something. It seems like it healed my gluten sensitivity. I used to have seborrhea on my head and IBS days after eating anything with wheat flour in it. And I didn’t even drink kefir that often, maybe once a week for a few months, but I ate the excess grains. Didn’t expect to make my sensitivity go away, I discovered it accidentaly.

I have horrible digestion drinking pasteurized milk but I just started raw milk & not only is it the best tasting milk but my pain has substantially decreased. I was desperate to go raw primal w/some cooked because I’m very obese & have had chronic pain for a month. I have been through hell & back.
