I literally cried throughout all the goodbye scenes. I know exactly how you feel! I did an exchange year last year and obviously saying goodbye was really hard. But at the end it all was WORTH IT!!

Hello you three are a sympathetic family. Yes it is sad and hurts when you have to say goodbye to the family for a long time, but you will also meet your friends in Germany. As well as you will get to know our country with all its sights, the food, the culture and what else to discover. It is, of course, much different in the new country than in the States and it is a culture shock that overwhelms some, but you can do that I am sure. Welcome to the new home.
