HOW DOES THE DECHOKER WORK ? Anti-Choking Device

preview_player
Показать описание

There is finally an alternative to the abdominal thrust. Instead of relying on the air from the lungs to force the obstruction out during choking, the Dechoker works on the opposite side, to suck the actual obstruction out of the trachea.

Dr. Snook breaks down each component of this anti-choking device, including: tongue depressor, mask, plunger and exhaust valve. You’ll see firsthand just how simple the Dechoker is to use.
Dechoker’s mission is to be in every home, school, hospital, and restaurant, as well as in every ambulance, fire truck and emergency response vehicle.

Dechoker offers a range of choking first-aid devices based on age and relative size, including:
Adults: Ages 12 and up
Children: Ages 3 - 12
Toddler: Ages 1- 3

Buy this now! This device saved my grandmother's life twice today. Once this morning, from breakfast and again at dinner. My grandmother is 87 & the heimlich maneuver is not possible as she is very frail. In every video I've seen, the patient is lying down, so I didn't know if it would work if the patient was sitting up, but it absolutely did! This device is a lifesaver!!

I am interested but I have some doubts and concerns. I've worked ER for ten years and have performed Heimlich style abdominal thrusts 4 times in the public setting. And thrusts have been effective 100% of those times. I do not think a true choking victim will remain still enough to create a vacuum seal. Also, as we've seen in true settings it is uneasy to difficult for even medical professionals to create a firm one handed seal on a cushioned face mask. And finally I think the procedure itself is asking too much fine motor skill from the lay person during a panic situation. As I said these are concerns but I would be willing to try this device.

Very serious Problem is that many people are too large or obese to properly do the hiemlich on and also if the person is paralyzed, bedridden and immobile - getting behind and in proper position is sometimes just not possible.

This happened to my mom. She lives in a nursing home and not too long ago she choked on food.
She’s morbidly obese, very weak and the aids and nurse were not able to do the heimlich on her. To wrap around her from behind and clench their hands together under her zyphoid process was physically impossible ... plus they have to have the strength to do all that AND to pull up into the diaphragm enough to force the obstruction out. The nurse is a tiny gal and the few aids were not able to get their hands around her. Then of course she passed out and my mom went into cardiac arrest and they rushed her to the ER.
Thank god the nursing home we have her in is connected to a hospital cause the ER Drs saved her life.
There are many reasons i just stated in just one example where I could see this device being a possible life saver.... or at least a plan B alternative.
There was no plan B for my mom until the ER intubated her.
She survived but if the ER wasn’t right there she would not have lived.
Next issue- she’s in the ICU and they can finally remove the intubation tube and immediately she is on just fluids and her swallowing reflex is not functioning properly .
But, they need to give her her medicine in pill form. So at least 5 pills.
I was flabbergasted they would not give her meds intravenously until her swallowing reflex was stronger.
She had cracked ribs and was very beat up from them saving her life and it was painful for her just to breath normally as her diaphragm and chest muscles would periodically seize and spasm when taking a deep breath. She was in a lot of pain even with pain meds.
I told them no way are you giving her pills right now.... I asked them what they would do if she choked on them????
So unfortunately they had to tube her into her throat to get the pills down but at least that eliminated the possible choking as she could not handle another round of what she barely just survived.

Here’s another reason. I live alone.
Nuff said 🤦‍♀️

Soooo many reasons to get this choking device. Also, I did balk when I saw the price but also understand how expensive it is to get a product to market and in the beginning it’s a reality to have to cover the costs and pay tye investors back. Plus the cost cant come down until the orders get larger so as to manufacture larger batches which in turn brings over head down.
So I get the price but then I think how much my mom suffered because of not having another option and think the price is nothing compared.
Grateful for the DR creating this and putting it on the market! This should be in every first aid kit, home, car, class room, business, nursing home, day care etc etc
I will be buying two with my stimulus check. ❣️✊🤗❣️

A tragic incident just happened recently not super far from were we live. A 5 year old passed away after he inhaled a piece of meat during dinner. Swallowed with out chewing, his Father did use the Heimlich Maneuver with no success (yes he had training) plus first aid and CPR. Paramedics finally dislodged the meat but the stress on the childs body was too much and he suffered heart failure was revived, but then had seizures and brain swelling. :( May he RIP

I’m curious, would the soft tissue of the uvula / throat etc etc cause it’s own suction on itself if this device was used too aggressively as demonstrated in the video? Has it been tested on actual people?

How does the tonsils and uvula not get in the way? I’ve seen a lot of positive testimonies and I’m just curious

Does it sometimes suck the tongue 👅, basically asking does the tongue get stuck in tube

Are you supposed to inflate the seal around the mouth? And, if you are the one choking, can you use this on yourself?

The companies “clinical studies” page doesn’t provide any link to actual data, just drops big names. Doesn’t appear to have any research! Just some case reports, which isn’t even research.

There is a lot of research about people focusing on equipment and neglecting the patient, or causing harm by inexperience in using medical equipment. How much training is required? How do you test for user competency? When do people need to get refresher courses? How long is the product shelf stable, does it need to be serviced or tested?

Does it work in the actual settings you say it does? Not just in staged tests. Is it consistently repeatable? Are there any data showing it can cause harm or have negative outcomes?

If I use this device on a patient and they die or are injured, will I have a legal defense that says I should have been using this device other than performing care that is the current standard of practice? Or am I going to be sued for using a unproven quack medical device?

Without REAL research and proven evidence, you can’t even answer these questions, let alone be credible in asserting a medical claim.

Do the work and show the data. I’ll be interested when that is done. Until then it’s a sales pitch without a leg to stand on.

Will this work on fish bone that stuck inside the throat?

Does the device have to be removed for a 2nd try or does the valve make it so you can save those valuable seconds?

This is cool and all but when I was a small child I ate a piece of hard candy and my grandmother had my older sister hold me upside down by my ankles as she whacked my back and the candy flew out, (they tell me this story all the time) but we didn’t have this fancy stuff. I’m a lifeguard now and I had never seen this device until this video, we do thrusts still, I’m not sure if this device is legit or not but we don’t get supplied it that’s for sure! I’m wondering why it’s not seen and used more often?
