My thoughts on the enraging response to "GrowWithJo is Misleading You (What's the truth??)" by fellow youtuber FrumpyFit. Toxic positivity is real.

Just to reiterate, I really like gwj's workouts! I messed up my back doing something I knew I shouldn't do, so her easy walking workouts are the only things I've been doing for the past couple of weeks. I'm very grateful for her videos, and most of her recent vones are clickbait-free. Not like her old "hip dips workout" bullshit.

The big booty program still irks me though. And I really don't like the claim youtubers must do clickbait to be successful. They do not. If they can't be successful without it, maybe their content just sucks. Heather Robertson, Caroline Girvan, Fitness Marshall. None of them use it, yet are very successful.

God bless! I hope you continue to enjoy my workouts, thanks for sharing them! ☺

I feel like this is a harsh petty criticism for someone who does an awesome job doing what she does. To me, @growwithjo is an unproblematic QUEEN 👑 and btw, your title "i Hate YouTube" 'this aint it girl" "growwithjo is misleading you" etc is ironically clickbaity in itself. You try to say you like her while getting all up in arms about thumbnails.

I never take titles too literally/seriously. I love her workouts regardless of the titles/thumbnails

How seriously should we take a YouTube video whose title is "I Hate YouTube"?
This was a complete waste of time.

People need to use common sense. If you are 500 lbs you won’t have abs in 2 weeks and you need to grow up. Moving is great but it’s what you’re eating that’s keeping you fat. Jo spreads positivity and it’s working for many. This is just a bunch of complaints about nothing really.🙄

I love Jo!!! People forget that it really is 80% diet and 20 % exercise!!

Jo is amazing. I did it for 2 months and I had people coming up to me saying I looked like I did 10 years ago. No only is it a great workout, it's fun and uplifting for your soul. She has done so much good for women. A great role model for us all

At the end of the day she’s getting millions of people up and moving! Can’t be mad about that! And I don’t think anyone takes the thumbnails too literal. Especially bc once the video starts she doesn’t make that the focus she’s just positive and motivating all the way through.

Oh for goodness sake. I’ve lost loads of weight with Jo… I was avoiding cardio for ages and jo made it fun… I now do many other forms of cardio. I hate this culture of women tearing down other women for clout. Jo is doing a good thing.

I’ve lost like 10-15 pounds with GrowWithJo just doing her indoor workouts. It got rid of a lot of belly fat too, with overall more movement and no weight training. Definitely understand the unrealistic expectations, and science part but her workouts are definitely working 🥰

"this ain't it girl."

Do these people think they are in mean girls or something?

Don’t judge someone until you try it. I been working out to her for 21months and lost 55lbs! I was 195lbs I am now down to 140lb. I absolutely love her. It won’t work if your not consistent, her low lower ab and burn fat videos do work! You have to eat right too! My fat under my arms gone, nice and toned!

We know blah blah. I just need to get my ass up and be active. Her videos get you moving and they are free.

The reason people get so upset is because Jo has helped so many people get into fitness. Jo helped me begin my fitness journey. I'm no longer doing her videos full time, but I don't like hearing or reading that her work outs aren't credible, Because if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be where I am physically and mentally today .

Definitely “false advertising” can be frustrating. What I do appreciate is that she was the first person who got me motivated to move, exercise, and loose weight in 6 years. Of course you can’t expect easy results as adults we should be smarter than that. It’s tough either way though because not all audiences will know better. I do think overall her positive influence has been better than these cons 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jo’s workouts are fun and enjoyable. I do agree some of the thumbnails and expectations are clickbait-ey but that’s just like almost every other fitness YouTuber out there. I personally am a lot happier doing jos workouts than I was when I did Chloe Ting, Emi Wong etc. Your take is valid, I just think it’s more important that she’s out there spreading positivity, encouraging people to move, and helping people love themselves than a few of her videos being unrealistic.

I lost 5 pounds doing her workouts last week. Most us know you can’t spot reduce yet there are literally thousands on YouTube with similar videos. I lost weight and that’s really what my ultimate goal is. The rest will eventually follow. I’ll continue to do her workouts ❤ Not sure what ya’ll are so mad about

I’d like to add the fact that Jo has a personal trainer. She doesn’t just use her own videos to be as fit as she is. That’s definitely something to keep in mind
