Electric Car - Explained

preview_player
Показать описание
How do electric cars work? What is an electric car? Electric cars use electric motors to power the vehicle, rather than an internal combustion engine. The result is a vehicle that produces no emissions, requires little maintenance, and is extremely cheap to recharge. With advances in lithium ion batteries, electric cars are becoming more and more popular.

There is still plenty of processing and refining, shipping, etc.. involved with the production of gasoline/diesel fuel. There are added costs on both ends.

I'm enjoying your electric series. I would appreciate a more detailed look at different types of motors, like steppers, servos and brushless ones.

The alternators would act as brakes, slowing the car down. This is essentially how regenerative braking works, I'll have videos soon!

Well cold would certainly affect the battery, but if it had a heating coil to run the heat, it shouldn't have any problem providing hot air. It'd actually be quicker than an ICE heating up - but this energy affects battery life in an electric car, where as it doesn't really affect anything for ICE.
