Charging your car like your phone seems way more convenient then going to a pump.

The biggest issue with EV cars is the battery. It's the most expensive component to manufacture AND it's the one that wears the fastest. While EVs themselves don't generare harmful emissions, the power which charges your battery most likely comes from powerplants that do generate emissions. Also, as far as I'm aware, you cannot really recycle the battery when it comes time to change it. All in all, while I absolutely love EVs, they have a long way to go before they can truly be considered green.

First there is a 11 year old mining cobalt to make your battery. Then it cost $1.50 a hour to charge for a 150 mile range. At this rate it will take a month to drive across the US.

Why are EV's still designed to look like combustion cars? If the motors are distributed, then what's under the hood?

As modern as they are I prefer normal cars any day. The feeling of driving a manual transmission and to be able to hear the engine when you rev is irreplaceable to me.

why is it difficult for mechanics to operate on EVs?

The wisest thing that should be on everyone's mind currently should be to invest in different streams of income that doesn't depend on the govt. Especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a good time to invest in Gold, Silver and digital currencies (BTC, ETH...)

How much loss do you get transferring from AC to DC back to AC? Seems kinda like a waste. Can you get the same performance from a DC motor? Or have the ability to store AC power?

We need many, many more of the newer, safe small nuclear reactors. As is these electric cars are fueled by coal and oil to a large extent.

There are a lot of reasons why ev's will never work in YouTube comments. I've had 2 used 2015 EVs for 3 1/2 years. Much less maintenance, save a lot of money on gas, fun to drive & I'm not embarrassed to say it's better for the air, more gas for everyone else.

The biggest issues with electric vehicles is the one fact and that’s they are NOT ready for prime time and are being rushed to market BEFORE they are ready !
