I relate to this. Adults who are lucky enough to be parents must know the difference between being a child's friend or buddy and a parent who coaches or teaches a child morals and values.

Yes. This is it. Sometimes the coach has to raise their voice. But a screaming coach is a bad coach. It’s about wanting what your kids are capable of, not some imaginary ideal set by someone else.

And a coach is a good friend. Be your kids friend. You are the first ones they will ever have, and it’s hard to make the next ones when they don’t even have that.
