The possibilities for low budget filmmakers are now pretty insane, and really only limited by how much time and effort you are willing to put into learning various software, and how much vision you have. Cameras are amazingly Good now for little money, editing software, vfx software, UE, deepfake. Its a amazing time.

yeah UE is insane. It's been really fun to learn, can't wait until there is a lot more content from filmmakers showing their tricks with Unreal

You should make a showcase or tutorial video for virtual sets with vr tracking like mandalorian uses. But with green screen

That's what I've been saying for years. I'm into gaming for almost 40 years, and today more than ever you can clearly see how games are comming closer to triple-A blockbusters we only expect to come out of Hollywood. Just few years back you could see all that only in game cutscenes, but today everything runs in real-time (if you have powerful enough equipment). It's absolutely insane what you can do with today's computers and software if you have the talent and know-how. You could literally be a crew of just a few people making mindblowing scenes that one could think it's the result of few dozens creators and budget in millions of dollars. The future is very, very bright for this type of movie making industry. The classic movie making is long gone, and now even green screens will completely go away. I'm so excited all of this is finally becoming a reality, and looking forward to see all what talented creators have to show to the world!

Damn, in college in 2009 I took 3-4 3d modeling/animation classes using 3DSMax and Maya and I had to I had to do everything manually. Modeling, Animation, Texturing, Lighting, etc and then used a render farm for hours to get a short clip. Now everyone has software like this and assets you can just drop in your scene. All of the CG people know how much time and effort it used to take to even create small assets or scenes. This is crazy.

I used to do this 20 years ago in some other engine when I was a kid - It's amazing to see how far game engines have come since then. I look forward to creating environments again!

It’s insane that those opening shots were CG

When the software is so good that you can’t tell if Ryan is CG or not

I love what Unreal's letting indie film makers do. I've seen Star Wars fanfilms made in the engine that would've blow me away just a decade ago. Democratization of art and creative endeavors is really damn beautiful. <3

If VR hardware can get the resolution and cost point, imagine creating a movie that the viewer is part of, 4th wall will take on an all new meaning.

I've been wanting to get started for like a year now. Still feels overwhelming. But the results would be worth it.

This is amazing! I’ve heard a lot about Unreal Engine over the years but to see how far it has come so quickly, is just so exciting for content creators. Thanks for putting this together!

What a great idea. I’m in the beginning stage of writing a screenplay, and I’m absolutely gonna use this. Thank you!

This looks insanely good. And useful in so many different ways. Also, so very hilariously better than when I started learning 3D back on the DOS, and eventually Win 3.1 version of 3DS Max. I literally laughed out loud watching the sun light changing over the drag-n-drop rock formations.

Exactly! Film Riot is also such an invaluable tool. I got into Blender a little bit before Ryan but have been excited and yet afraid to dip my toes into UE 5. I needed this push and glad to see it’s so user friendly (and free). Seeing how we’re moving in this country we may need to stay in again and this will definitely come in handy. Thanx again Ry guy

I just want to say that I love your new "format" of videos, with you teaching and imparting your knowledge... And though you always shared knowledge.. These are now very "Mature" and succinct in how they come across! I subscribed to you years ago, and hadn't seen your channel in a few years... So this is quite refreshing! And I'm back! Thank You! And Congrats!

I got into Unreal Engine at Unreal Engine 3 which was little more than a level editor for the Unreal game. It's amazing how far Epic has come with this software. It's really powerful and although it can be complicated at 1st, if you stick with it you'll soon pick it up and start your own projects.

Been using it for a while now (first project was actually a small game in 2017, where I learned Maya and UE4 from 0 experience) and even more since I finally got a new PC in February. It's such a fun tool for filmmakers and game developers alike.
