Most moonballers are not comfortable at the net, so just play dropshots to bring them in and then a passing shot while they try to return to the baseline.

Generally moonballers are in the 60th~ 70th percentile at local tennis clubs. And beating MBs is a indication that a player is passing intermediate level.

If I come to the net I’m getting lobbed 10/10 times, especially given that we are talking about playing against a MOONBALLER here

Thank you Patrick! It helped me a lot! Yesterday itself I lost to a moonballer, and I have been losing matches to moonballers since I was kid. I couldn't find the perfect way to beat moonballers and I finally did. Thank you Patrick!

Played against a moonballer recently, tried coming to the net a couple times in the first couple of games and instantly regretted it.
I would focus on trying to angles your ground strokes as much as possible to either get them to make a mistake or create opportunities for a smash

Alberto is right.. Moonballers usually hate coming forward cus they love being near the baseline so you can also mix in some drop-shots forcing them to the net and pass/lob them.

I love to play against the moon baller. I can put more topspin to push the guy back all the way. I can keep going all day long pushing my opponent back. Usually moon ballers or pushers don’t even have the power or the spin to push me back.

Imo, should've mentioned swinging fh and bh when they toss up high balls on the run, and then follow it to net. It's hard to be aggressive enough on mid-court volleys. Learn swinging volleys, which aren't that tough, and it becomes really easy to beat moonballers.

As a moonballer, I struggle against players with unpredictable shot selection. If you keep doing the same thing over and over again, I'll adapt be able to deal with it, even if you have good shots. If I don't know what you're going to do, I'll have a hard time winning. Throw in some slices. Hit some shots down the line if you've been hitting them cross court most of the time.

My tennis partner does this and drop shots the entire game. It's frustrating loosing to someone I shouldn't.

I simply play them once and never again. But usually my strategy is moonball back. Im usually in better shape so i can outlast them

Usually moonballers just like to rally, not play a point. They usually can’t move and are just waiting for you to miss. Try making them move and apply pressure towards them.

My coach told me to catch the balls out of the air and approach the net

If possible: Stop - Lob
This type of players usually love running horizontally but they are not so comfortable with running vertically.
It's not that easy to keep the orientation while running backwards...

Just use it as practice to take balls early, work on your overhead, and be aggressive. If you don’t have an overhead it’s gonna be difficult

Be careful getting too close to net - the pusher is usually good at lobbing.

Most moonballers probably have a weaker serve too so try to stand closer to the service box

Using Serena Williams practice footage for your instructional shorts is a pretty badass flex tbh

Fight from the first point and avoid a bad start. If a moonballer gets in front, everything gets more difficult. Do not try to hit the lines or get too close to the lines. Wait for the short ball, or play slice ("shit") in the middle. If you go to the net, you need to have a good smash.
