Story 3: dude, OP’s brother’s gf actually assaulted OP. She tried to force OP into the cake—pulling her hair, pushing her down and drawing blood from her neck with her nails. Everyone was telling her to stop. This wasn’t a “prank”, this was the gf feeling jealous of OP and her brother’s bond and trying to get revenge on OP.

Last story: A lot of abusers will take their own life than face accountability or the loss of control over their victim. The abusive girlfriend didn't care that her choice would have hurt her family or friends as she only cared about controlling the narrative and the control and power she had over OP. When she saw that she was losing that, and that her own reputation was close to ruin and she'd have to face accountability, she took that control one last time, now possibly permanently having control over OP in death.

Damn, the last story is insane. All this abuse and her final act is another big act of abuse to stay in his head forever. This chick is a piece of work

Story 2:They literally almost killed OP, Lock them up NOW!!!

The cake story was honestly a little scary and I was physically cringing at the idea of OP being impaled on skewers. But also, poor OP, she shouldn't feel guilty. The gf was the one who ruined her relationship, not OP.

Story 3: The only thing more irritating than OP somehow blaming herself, is the fact that no one called the police for the assault and harassment. OP was a victim and she thinks this was somehow her fault, it’s not and please stop blaming yourself for this. Also please someone press charges on this psycho B.

The mother in law is not the only person that can be arrested, literally any of the family who helped her will be charged with the same crime

The last story I actually saw the twist that she was an abuser coming. One of the FIRST things abusers do is isolate you from your friends and family.

Last story: I feel so bad for OP, suffering even after he finally got away from his abuser. Thank goodness for the boss, and OP finally being able to get out of there. Hopefully OP can eventually heal and realize none of this was his fault, she was an abuser and it can happen to men just as easily as women, it's just not reported or even spoken of as often.

Cake smashing is purely cruel humiliation it's not a harmless prank

Story 2: if I had a nickel for every reddit post where someone had and intervention for medically necessary prescriptions; I'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's strange that it happened twice.

The cake story: Yeah there are multiple videos online of people getting wooden skewers in their eyes from "friends and family" pushing their faces into birthday/wedding cakes as a prank. Several of them have had their eyeballs punctured, injured by being stabbed in the face and even died when they skewer went through their eye socket into their brain. There are also solid and sharp non edible cake decorations that have severely injured people as well. so you should NEVER EVER do it.

It breaks my heart when people say "I did this, I ruined so and so's life, " when it's clearly just someone making a (bad) choice and consequences ensue. I thought that way myself, once upon a time, and I'm so glad to be free of the burden of other's choices!

Story 3: op you didn't ruin your brother's life you saved him from a toxic relationship and you know what let the sister in law sue you just so she can be laughed out of court

Hold on, what? Is reddit broken today? A boss who genuinely cares about his employees? What world is this?
Genuinely though, that guy is an absolute bro, he saw someone in need and didn't even hesitate to drop everything to help OP.

The story with OP, her SIL and the cake: OP IS lucky because if she hadn't been killed, she still could've been maimed (lost an eye) on one of those dowels inside of the cake.
Her brother needs to do something about his woman.
Last story: I hope OP comes to realize that his gf's escalation could've led to her unaliving HIM instead of herself.
It happens all the time.
I pray he finds peace once he realizes this, and can evict her from his head.

Honestly, about the last story, OP may not be seeing it now, but this scenario is good for him, I believe that had things continued as they were, that his abuser would have eventually killed him, he mentioned that they fought on the kitchen before, so it's not impossible that she on her rage would have lost it attacked him with a knife, or that she could hace pushed him really badly against some furniture and then broke his neck because of the impact
