“I don’t need you”

Then….Why are you even asking for applicants?

Right now is a truckers world. Any driver knows he can quit his job right now and have 4 offers by noon.

As a retired trucker, I can confidently state that this guy expects his drivers to run "outlaw", in other words, in violation of federal Hours of Service regulations as there is no legal way to run 16-18 hours in any 24 hour period. So, he expects them to shoulder the risk while staying out weeks on end without going home. Just the tone of his ad should send up red flags by the thousands. A driver can make the same money working for a reputable company. I retired from the 3rd largest privately owned carrier in the US and just saw that the top half of their drivers are currently making in the range of $80-100k per year running completely legal. In fact, the company's safety department regularly audits drivers logs to make certain they are doing so. The thing is that if a driver is running illegally and has an accident he can be charged with vehicular homicide whether he/she is at fault or not, the legal premise being that had they stopped when they ran out of hours for the day they wouldn't have been there for the accident to have happened. Several drivers are sitting in prison for this very reason. Any driver who works for this cretin is begging to have a world of hurt come crashing down on them.

That trucking job posting sounds pretty accurate. There are some serious jerks out there. I am a truck driver and I hear their self righteous rants frequently. Your assessment of his plan to keep spare trucks is accurate. Most companies want all their trucks rolling as much as possible.

I was literally ranting to my husband about Christmas stuff during October yesterday!! It's so wrong, it undercuts the vibe of the spooky season, and it does neither season any favours. I would never buy Christmas stuff before Halloween is over.

I live in Germany and the first Christmas stuff was on the shelves of the stores at the first of September. It's just nuts how much those companies want to cash in on Christmas.

I feel like artists need to send Choosing beggars the “it costs that much because it takes me f**king hours” song

That guitar seller bent over backwards to find a solution for the CB. Finding a picture to clarify what she meant, estimating costs for the work, and so on. I bet they sold it really easily with that attitude.

Nothing says "I really need you" like going on about how much they don't need you

The Xmas present one hit me pretty hard. We moved to Australia as refugees and we had absolutely nothing when we arrived. I remember when our mom took us to the Salvation Army and they took us into this room absolutely jam packed with toys. The lady told my sister and I to pick any toy we wanted and when we were done we were so so happy and she look at us and smiled and said that we can have another toy. Its such a wonderful memory.

Truckers here. Considering the dude has 3 trucks on standby is actually normal for any fleets in case of emergency. Also, most of the facts he stated are mostly true. Most OTR disappeared for weeks, even months, before they're back home. The hours are illegal though, from the eyes of DOT/FMCSA as you can only legally drive for 11 hours a day and drive/on duty for 14 hours a day before you need to take mandated 10 hours uninterrupted off duty.

However, that #1 is very wrong. Considering the amount of Truckers shortage all across the USA today, fleets needed drivers more than drivers needed them. If I were to read that advertisement, I would stop at #1 and move on. Heck, I have a trucker friend who got a ticket for speeding over 10mph, failure to yield, and even rolled over his truck, all in one day. My fleet doesn't fire him and told him to come back whenever he's ready to come back. That's how much the statement on #1 is wrong.

I just “love” how some choosingbeggars don’t want the hassle that sellers are TRYING to tell them that they don’t want in the first place.
