In this video Doctor O'Donovan explains abdominal bloating.

Bloating is where your tummy feels full and uncomfortable. It's very common and there are things you can do to ease it. But see a doctor if you feel bloated a lot or it does not go away.

Symptoms of bloating include:

- your tummy feels full or bigger than usual
- you have tummy pain or discomfort
- your tummy is rumbling or making noises
- you're farting more than usual

See your doctor if:

- you've been feeling bloated for 3 weeks or more
- you feel bloated regularly (more than 12 times a month)
- you've tried changing your diet but keep feeling bloated
- you have a swelling or lump in your tummy
- you have bloating along with being sick, diarrhoea, constipation, weight - - loss or blood in your poo
- you find it difficult to move or do daily activities because you're bloated

The older l get the worse with my bloatedness. Milk, coffee, bread, sugar, and carbs make me look like puffer fish. Probiotic stuff like yoghurts, kimchi, and sourkraft makes my stomach even gassier. It's futile trying to lose weight as l still look like a balloon. 😭😭

*Here's an update:* Out of desperation, l tried drinking lemon juice to reset my digestive system. Apparently, it works. Every morning, l squeeze the juice of one lemon, mix it with 500ml of water, and gulp it all down at once before any breakfast. I feel so much better now.

I don't have any of those things you mentioned. I check off all of the boxes as okay, but I'm not. Also to see a doctor in the US has caused more headache than anything!

My bloating hasn’t gone away in over two years immediately after I eat basically it gets bigger and hard.

Are there two different types of bloating? 1 with larger stomach, constipated, etc and water weight gain which also makes the stomach look like you ate a bowling ball. So do you treat both the same?

I am having this problem too. I also do not understand why this is happening. No gastric problems, no pain or period problems. Only discomfort of lower abdomen. 2:11 😓😓😓😓

SIBO is a major cause of bloating. I would take some steps to treat this and the re evaluate the bloating. High fibre can cause more bloating, so if you have an overgrowth of bacteria, then this will exasperate your issues.
