Why I use GODOT - Small but Mighty Game Engine

The Godot Game Engine is a great open source game engine that I use to make my indie games as a solo game dev. This is the first part of a new series of shorts where I will share the reasons I use the Godot Game Engine!

Man literally the reason why I use GODOT, the involvement of game dev in my academics is most often present and I need to constantly show progress of my game so I just dip a drive on campus PC's, run the engine, and WLAH! No need to wait for it to install

The only reason I don’t use unreal is because every time I open it. I get the feeling I opened a floodgate it has so many buttons and sub menus it’s honestly worse than blender in that department. I don’t need each and every option shown to me at once, especially because I am a beginner. It’s overall very intimidating. I am thinking about trying out godot for quite some time now

3 Questions

-Does godot charge 20 cents per download?
-does it support C# ?
- Is it easy to learn if you have low experience with unity?

It depends on your goals.
If you want to make a triple AAA ultra complex high quality FPS game you would use UE... but yea, Godot Engine is literally god. Been using it the past months

Currently using gedot to develop games that run on my potato laptop: Celeron 1.1ghz, 12gb ram and integrated graphics with only 128gb SSD. Using the laptop to develop for other potato PCs and mobile devices.

Started to learn it a couple weeks ago and man I really love this engine.
I've learned Unity for a bit a couple of years ago but honestly never got really far.
Godot is far easier to learn (especially since the language is extremely similar to python and python is really easy to learn) and really fast to get up and running.

I did my first simple top down shooting game with menus, items and enemies in just a week.
My first complete project in Unity took me more than a month.
