iPad Air 4 vs iPad Pro 10.5” // Tricky Trade-offs!

Some iPad comparisons are pretty straight forward. One device, usually an iPad Pro is better and more expensive, while the other is cheaper with less features to offer. In this video however, we compare the iPad Air 4, considered "mid-tier" in today's standard to iPad Pro 10.5", an iPad that was extremely advanced for it's time 3+ years ago. More specifically, I touch on their design characteristics, displays, battery capcity/screen on time, camera capabilities and general performance in order to help you decide which is right for you!

Used ipad pro 10.5 is about half the price of ipad air 4 right now and battery life isn't too bad as it easily last me a full day of usage at school. Super value for money imo compared to air 4. The a14 chip though...

I confirm, even at iOS 15.0.1 on 10.5" the cpu speed, 120Hz screen response and battery time works the same as in iOS 13 and 14. Cheers!

Bought my iPad Pro 10.5 256gb at excellent price of £429 (for the time) on a Black Friday 2 years ago. Still an amazing tablet in 2021, and probably in 2022. Even today there isn't any new iPad with 120 refresh rate at that price point

The 10.5 pro has everything I want in a tablet, it's still fast imo, 4 speakers, fast touch ID, 120hz, thin bezels, earphone jack, & it Keeps the original iPad

I bought a 10.5 wifi + 4G 64 GB for 300 euros just days ago. Much better than buy a new Air 4 for 800 euros

Thanks for making this comparison video! I've been thinking about upgrading from my 10.5 Pro to this model because all of the "Pro" features the 10.5 had are now available in pretty much every iPad model (except the refresh rate). It doesn't seem like it's really worth the upgrade yet, especially since the 10.5 doesn't really have any slowdowns despite being almost four years old. The only thing that would be nice is that I hear the USB-C iPad models don't have any lag on external displays, whereas the old lightning adapter models really can't be used with an external display due to input lag. If someone happens to read this comment and can confirm that, that would be pretty helpful to know

Funny thing is that I came from the iPad Pro 10.5 and personally don’t miss the “pro motion”. I honestly don’t even notice the difference and I’m loving my IPad Air 4. The only thing I noticed is that the speakers on my Pro are definitely louder.

I'm still using my 2017 12.9" every day for art and it works fantastic with the exception of the light bleed that unfortunately appeared during the years. Wish it had usb c for a hub but I'm sure there's a workaround! Great video and these newer ipads have come such a long way
