For my use as an RVer, the Gen 2 works just fine. Set it up, power it up, and within 20 minutes I'm watching JChristina, checking email, and social media.

I bought the refurbished & I'm pretty sure they sent me a brand new one. It's been great. It's been under a month, but there have been 2 bad storms. There was a hiccup during one of them, but it only lasted a few seconds. I haven't had to reposition or anything yet. The upload speed is a little rough, but it works fine. I've been pretty happy so far.

I am still rocking the Gen1 dishy and going strong. Recently purchased a TP Link WiFi6 router and it's even better.

My Gen 1 dish holds up to the northern Alberta winters. Which is a solid reason why I really enjoy it.

I wanted to say I really enjoy your programme. I live in the UK (on fibre optic) but have a Gen 2 at my place in France. We have only had Starlink a couple months and only get over every 2 months but it works. Cost at 35 euros (38 dollars) a month. A really good deal to purchase and run and easy to set up. We were waiting for fibre but it has taken to long with a possible 2 more years too wait. A good point on the one stop let the dish do the work. I don’t want to or need to climb up the side of the house to realign a dish. Your show is letting us know what Europe will have in the next 6 months. Keep up the good work.

That answered my question. I will keep my v2 dish and put off upgrading to the v4. The power difference was my deciding factor, as I am boondocking a lot while I work remotely.

As full time RVers, we'll stick with the V.2 until it wears out. Still works fine after a year or more.

Gen 1 here. Still works for what I need including streaming and running several devices simultaneously. It’s too difficult to get to in order just to replace for the sake of replacing it. I’d probably try T-Mobile instead of forking over the additional money for new Starlink equipment.

Mine should be coming in Thursday I can't wait. I'm finally going to have good internet. Pretty excited

Another reason to upgrade to Gen 4 is the router supports Ethernet backhaul for your mesh. I was planning on setting up a mesh but with the added range of wifi 6 I ended up not needing it. I bought the refurb unit for 400 and sold my gen 2 to a friend for 300. Totally worth it!

I remember when I started out with cable and would get just 100mbs. Ever since then I keep hearing more speed more speed but I think constant connectivity is key. That’s my only issue. Based on my “obstructions” I receive interruptions every 1-2 mins. I remember you mentioning the dish pointing to the north. If I could get my V2 to point straight up I don’t think I would have many issues. Mind you if I knew about how latency worked years ago I could compare than now. Starlink and you have made it more understandable.

I still have V1 and it's doing good so far.

In northern California, I've had 5 Gen 2 Starlink Mesh Routers plus 1 Main Router working great, covering 2 houses plus 3 acres on the farm for 6 months now with wifi speeds around 10 Mbps and wired speeds around 170 Mbps. Dishy is 200 feet up a redwood tree, so I'm staying with the Gen 2 until it stops working.

Tried a Gen 4 router and it wouldnt mesh with the Gen 2 system, so I returned the Gen 4 router.

Just got back from Moab, Utah in my RV where that gen 2 roof mounted dish got some of its best results ever. It’s top download speed was 371 Mb and believe it or not. It was uploading upwards of 41 Mb. I’ve never seen anything like that in central Colorado, where I live. Go Gen 2!!

I want to stay with the motorized dish for when space war 1 starts to catch whatever satellites are not knocked out <g>

Like you, I too had the first beta living in the Sierra of NorCal. Well, we had a rat infestation, they literally gnawed through my sat cable to the router, they killed it.
I contacted Starlink, the only way to replace the cable was to buy a new dish, so I asked if I could buy one, she said I'll get back to you by end of day, but within an hour, I had a notification that a new one was on the way.
By new, they sent me a complete replacement kit, router dish etc, no charge.

Oh, before I used to see speeds of solid 30 to 60 Mbs down, 14 up, and I was fine with that, I could stream everything.
Now, with the new system, I'm seeing steady 300+ down, 30 up.
I love Starlink, no complaints here. And yes, I'm heavily forested, now I have c ell service as well now that we plugged in our account into Starlink.

Thanks, love your info, spent enough on V2 and it’s up on my roof and I’ll only go there to replace it when it breaks. I don’t have the time, the will, the money to change. Notice the money came in last. I won’t keep up with the jones. It works and I can watch 4 k streaming.

I'm in Australia (western Australia to be exact)
I have the version two hard mounted to my 4X4 and while driving around in getting lows of 110 - 120mbs and highs of 400 - 600mbs down. From the V2 router that's boosted to 800mbs+
