Hi guys, be sure to leave a LIKE on the video to help keep my channel powered by the viewers, not sponsored videos. Thanks for watching! Also

I made a mistake and didn’t realize I accidentally said megabytes instead of megabits. You can also see that the results were shown in megabits. Apologies to those who missed the correct results on the screen.

I own property in western NC that under normal circumstances does not have internet or even cellular coverage available. After hurricane Helene came through, internet and cell coverage was lost to a large area of western NC. A neighbor has starlink and was able to communicate to those outside the region that they were safe. To me, starlink by itself is a game changer. Being able to take the internet with you on a boat is also amazing. I wish I had that capability when I took my boat to the Bahamas.

Edit: Thanks for the review.

I’m from an island in the Bahamas called Exuma, population is about 8k. Before getting starlink I got about 7mb down and 1-2 up, yes you read that right, 7!!! I have starlink residential for about $80/Month and my recent speed test was 145mb down and 30 up 😂😂 dude starlink saved my life

For people who live in remote or rural areas Starlink is a life saver. 100 MB down load is very adequate. Very informative video 👍🏾

I ordered the Starlink Mini system today. I live in rural south Georgia. Windstream WiFi went down during Helene. Verizon went down during Helene. I had no way of contacting my family who live in North Georgia for a few days which was anxiety inducing. Windstream’s home service has been abysmal even in decent weather and I got tired of seeing that orange light on the router for days on end. No more! Great review

I have the Mini on my Sprinter van. Works flawlessly mounted on the roof. Crazy not to get the Mini for mobile applications. I found the range of the built in WiFi router on the roof of van about 150 yards outside.

The others aren't mobile. That's the big selling point for the mini. The ability to take it on the road is a game changer.

There is a YouTube of a Deputy Sheriff in his patrol car escorting a convoy into a devastated area on North West North Carolina. He had one of these mini's setup on his dashboard looking you through his windshield. It was the only way he could communicate with the rest of the convoy and to his dispatcher.

Wow, it this true? If I pay one-month, use it for a week and pause it. Two months late, when I un-pause it, I still have three weeks left to use? That's awesome!!

living in SW Florida, hurricanes knock out Comcast internet. Comcast will not send crews out to do repairs until power is restored.
This may take several days so I'm looking into Starlink to see if I can reduce or cut out the internet down time.

I just got the starlink mini, I'm in Orlando, FL, and the best I can get with perfectly clear skies and perfect orientation is about 30mbps down and 7mbps upload sitting right next to it. Connection between phone and starlink was 590mbps, starlink to internet 30mbps. Overall not happy with the download speed but got it because of the outages for a backup. Also I bought it from best buy so I did not get the 30 day free trial I had to pay up front to start the service. When you pause the service it works until the end of the billing cycle and then doesn't renew for the following month.

LOL, I retired 6 years ago as a senior software developer where I was allowed to work from my rural home office for last 12 years. I was forced to conduct virtual Zoom meetings with project team members, customers and branch offices around the world ON 3 TO 4 MBPS wireless point to point internet. Here your doing 120 while driving down the highway.
Question, heard rumors that Mini will incorporate a method for 12VDC power without the 120 AC transformer?

Are you sure you can pause/unpause and save weeks in the month to use later? I don’t have that option. when I pause, it tells me that I can still use it until the end of my billing period and then can unpause whenever.

Charter/Spectrum or another Fiber connection is best at 1gb or faster and great reliability. I have a full size Starlink and typically get 300mbps+ with 25ms latency down and 13 -15 up. Verizon and other 5G can't compete with that. I can play the most demanding games with ease. i work in IT and have multiple connections going all day with no issues...as long as you don't have obstructions...
Thanks for the video! This mini certainly would be great for travel. Just activate it when on the road and it can't be beat. Many places crossing the country there is no cell reception, but this can work just about anywhere.

For anyone anywhere who cant get good high speed internet its a game changer. I, m in the Aus bush on a farm. Our old sattelite set up gave us 5mbps on a good day. Dropped out all the time too. Got starlink now get 150mbps all the time. Almost never drops out. Ive got a house in town with the hardwired NBN. that gives 50 total crap. We can now do real business on line, the world and its opportunities is not remote to us we love ya Elon.

Ok that’s cool you can pause the service. Could come in handy around hurricane season here in Texas.

Thanks for the review! Would you recommend purchasing the hardware extended warranty? Thank you.

So if mini is preferred when going traveling overland adventures how is your subscription handled month to month? Buy the hardware and have subscription temp on then off?

I have a farm and it’s a game changer!! It didn’t even go down with the hurricane going through. I definitely recommend getting a holder for it. I bought the one off of Amazon for the roof, portable, but of metal. It’s great. 🥳

Thank you, excellent report !
Starlink has been mentioned in helping with disaster recovery. How do people get the receiver and set up an account and plan in the middle of a disaster ? Seems like prepping is essential.
