There are already MORE THAN 4,000 Starlink satellites in orbit! 🤯🛰️

This video shows how the number of Starlink satellites has grown over time. The first launch took place in 2019. Since then, more than 4,000 satellites have been sent into orbit! This is currently the largest satellite constellation, but it's unlikely to be the only one.

Note that satellites are actually much smaller. They're about the size of a small car or a large sofa and weigh somewhere in between. 🚗 The orbits are shown as of April 2023.

some peaple think that this is bad ..but think about those soldiers, cops, ships, cargos....etc my dad works in merchant navy cargo..communication is huge problem, ..while sailing to long days .we use to worry alot when sometime he used to take 2-3 days to call .but now starlink internet is installed .we are really happy ..and as long as i think .they are small in size .if it can stay in orbit without hurting us then why to think its bad

You think 4, 000 satellites is a lot? There are approx. *10, 000* commercial jets in the sky at any given time. They are many times larger than the satellites, and at 1/50th the altitude!

This video make it look like a lot because it is not to scale. In reality, they are spread so thin that it's like a drop of milk in an ocean.

One note: in this visualization the size of the dots used to represent the satellites, are about the size of a large city… the actual satellites are a tiny fraction of that size. If they were to scale you wouldn’t be able to see them at all in this animation.
