HOW TO FIX: NO VOICE OR DIALOGUE AUDIO IN VIDEO GAMES

HOW TO FIX THE BUG WITH NO DIALOGUE/VOICE AUDIO WHEN PLAYING VIDEO GAMES. VIDEO GAME HAS SFX AND MUSIC BUT NO DIALOGUE, SUPER FRUSTRATING!

Seems to be a problem with a lot of Ubisoft titles so thought I'd put together a quick "how to" style video for everybody. 5.1 or 7.1 headsets will cancel out the centre channel when playing a video game that doesn't have support for surround sound headsets or speaker systems. The centre channel is dedicated to all dialogue for video games and films so this cause the dialogue to disappear.

This worked for me:- Win 10 - bottom R/H corner right click on speaker icon - click on "Open sound settings" On sound output- click "Device Properties" under Spatial Sound - select "windows Sonic for Headphones" This worked for me on video playback.

I found a fix for windows 11, I was playing apex legends and monster hunter world then couldn’t hear the dialogue voices, I tried these tips and didn’t work. And here’s how it worked again:
Go to settings>sound>(in the advanced section)more sound settings>select your playback device(speakers or headphone)> properties>spatial sound>(the option was preselected as off) change it to windows sonic for headphones> apply

That’s how it fixed for me....hope it helps

a life saver, this method worked for Just Cause 4 as of today.Rico's and others speech were not audible although other sounds are ok, and changing 7.1 shit to stere fixed the issue.thanks man.

Thank you very much. That little piece of information worked perfectly. For ages now I have tried different video players thinking it was the fault of the player, never knowing it was the settings in my 5.1 system.

If you can't find "Configure" Similar solution: Go to [your device] > Advanced > Default Format and set to a 2 channel option instead of 8.

This works, but it's hardly a fix, as the games have the surround sound option, this completely eliminates surround sound within the game...

*Edit - I found out, that my system was set to "3D" in "Stereo" an option on the console itself, bypassing surround sound entirely. Switching that off, surround sound now works, and I get voices back in games :).
