The first thing to check is the volume settings of your device. Check and make sure that your device speakers are not muted or at the lowest volume setting. Also, check the configuration settings of your device speakers. Sometimes the Volume Mixer slider is at the lowest possible setting, and thus we don’t see a mute icon on the speaker. Sometimes the YouTube built-in voice controller are also muted or at lowest volume setting. Also ensure that the speaker icon in the browser tab which is playing the video is not muted.

LoL.. I had manually muted my Chrome browser the other day and I had forgotten to unmute it. I quickly unmuted it by clicking on the sound icon in the system tray, then clicking on Mixer, scroll to where the Chrome icon is and click the sound icon of it again (it was on mute). Thanks for reminding me!

i've been having an issue with my Mac like the volume is so low on youtube and just youtube but like my volume is maxed so could you help with that?

Selecting "Unmute" in a tab did the trick. Question: How could it have gotten muted in the first place? Is there a keyboard shortcut for that I might have accidentally pushed? In any case, thank you very much! I was about to give on help from the Internet as just about everywhere just says to check the (overly obvious) visible sound settings.

Hello, i have a issue with my ASUS computer.

everytime I startup I get a random “Open File” on startup,
the programme name is a bunch of letters and numbers (it is .exe) the file is located in my windows file but its nowhere to be seen.
i have tried multiple anti-viruses however none seems to be detecting it. Any suggestion?

Oh my GOD thank you so much. I was falling asleep at my desk, hit my keyboard and muted YouTube. BUT everything else was working so I was like WTF! Seeing you click the tab and it immediately said "unmute" for me ;; I'm SO happy thank you for sharing your knowledge!~

Thank you for the video - Sadly none of these fixed my issue. Only YT is muted, and all of the settings are correct.
