I only had issue with no sound on Chrome. I went to System Settings - Sound - Advanced Sound Options - There I found that Chrome was muted, so I simply unmuted it. That resolved the issue instantly.
I would like to thank the maker of this video. The solution I found for my problem was not mentioned here, but I could not have reached that page without the help of this video.
P.S. I'm using Windows 10

I was watching this video without any sound in ms. edge 😅
The control panel way works for me. However in my HP laptop,
there is no enhancement tab. (or was it because it uses windows 11, not sure).

So what I did was uncheck "HARDWARE ACCELERATION" and
"SIGNAL ENHANCEMENTS" under the "ANDVANCED" tab.

in my menu it says advanced, not enhanced? the menu it totally different

All of your audio files listed in the JavaScript code MUST be named as HTTPS, not HTTP. And obviously, that means the website(s) you are linking to (including yours) must be secure. That is, you need to have your security certificate, and make sure it is activated. It's a security issue with Chrome. I hope that helps. God bless.

My settings doesn't look like this one but I have enabled "sites can play sound" the first option and still I do not have sound on youtube on google chrome, but if I use Opera I have sound on youtube without any problem. Any help from you I will be grateful. I woud like to have sound on youtube on google chrome again.

If this doesn't work for some of you
Click the sound icon on your taskbar, Scroll down until you see advanced options or other options. Click Audio And Video Preferences and this works like a "Volume Mixer" Where now you can increase the volume of google chrome. (Works on any browser)

This usually happens if any major changes regarding your laptop have happened like getting it downgraded or any windows update. It can also happen if you're just dumb and installed some shady app or .exe file.

Did not work for me. Sound works in media player and in Firefox. Does not work in Chrome no matter what I tried. Only worth so much of my time. Wasted 1-2 hours. Weird.

In my sound settings in the control panel, I don't have the enhancements tab. Also, the audio in Chrome works for one YouTube video, then stops working when clicking onto another video. I've replicated the issue by opening a new tab, a new window and an incognito window. When I uninstall and reinstall Chrome, I go back to square one with only one video playing audio and no others will after clicking off of it. This issue does not occur in FireFox or Edge, and I'm on the 21H2 Windows update. System volume is unaffected by this as well. I'm going to reinstall my audio drivers just to test it out and see what happens, but if anyone has any suggestions or is having a similar issue, please let me know.
