My first video was not related to my channel topic. I published it only to break the ice when I founded my channel. It wasn’t a very good video, and essentially nobody watched the whole video. I didn’t start publishing videos until over a year later. So I have unlisted the video (but not deleted it).

I too deleted some videos from my channel due to not being a good fit/going in a different direction. I did however notice a slight spiral down on views etc. good info here. Just wish I seen this before I made the move. Thanks

Hello there . I've been making gaming videos for a year. I couldn't get the audience and views I wanted. Most of my subscribers are from shorts videos. So if I change my channel category, I don't have an audience that would be upset :) I changed my category. Normally my views were low, but now it has dropped much more. A few of my old game videos are watched but not many. Now I can't bear to delete them too. If I continue with the videos I just posted, the youtube algorithm will adapt to the new topic, right? and If I unlist my old videos, will YouTube better focus on the new category I'm going to make?

One of my videos started getting views (it actually took off). Then I got lazy and started using material that was already being uploaded to YouTube and reuploaded those to my channel by doing edits and other alterations. unfortunately, now I'm not getting views for these unoriginal videos. And the worst part is that after doing this, I noticed that the video that was getting views suddenly stopped performing, I feel like I messed it up 😭. This got me thinking whether deleting those unoriginal videos is the right thing to do to get back on track? I would really appreciate your advice Dexxter

I also have this low view duration issue from India. The same video gets 3:30 minutes of average view duration from the USA whereas from India only 1:51 minutes. Though the no of views is more than double from the US.

I'm trying to get my channel monetized. Youtube told me to delete my videos and make changes as I have reused content. I am making changes but do not want to delete all my content but would rather like to keep them private. Will Youtube consider this as deleted and hopefully monetize me now based on new content I will be creating?

Hi I have decided to delete a video that I uploaded and after few days I have uploaded same content video ( song ) in better performance that I feel. The video got 1k views and it stopped views. hi i deleted 5 videos from my other channel because i rebranded my content as i was steadily growing my new video stopped getting suggested after i deleted, i know i messed up but i want to know how do i recover from this? do i start a new channel or no
