I talk about some of the features that I feel make the Mac experience so appealing, why I actually moved over to Apple's OS, and also some of the things that I don't necessarily care for about the Mac Workspace.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to say thank you for all the love this video has been shown and also for the helpful tips regarding my switch over to MacOS! I also wanted to just clarify that while I have "switched" to Mac for the majority of my day to day work, I'm still using my PC on a near daily basis to play games. I still love both platforms I'm definitely gonna keep enjoying the strengths that both Windows and Mac have to offer!

I don't typically comment on videos. But I have never seen such high-quality video and audio, well thought out, and great transitioning YouTube video/Channel with such little subscribers. You have the right workflow; and I undoubtably know you will succeed as a professional Youtuber. Great work, and I appreciate the information!

Before I retired I was a Network engineer and we were always offfered a MacBook solely because in addition to network gear we also work with Unix systems. The under pinnings of Mac OS is Linux/Unix.

This is why YouTube is so great. If it weren’t for the recommended videos the platform wants to put out to people, I would’ve never seen this masterpiece. Kudos to you, keep what you’re doing, and you’re gonna go places for sure.

Great video! I am a life long windows user as well, I am now about 4 months into a migration to MacOS. I have to agree with the ecosystem integration, that’s a huge improvement but it has been a slow process adopting just about everything else.

To have every finder window snap all files to the grid go to the right click menu and choose show view options set that window up as you like it and then choose set as default and every folder will be organized the way and size you prefer. Snap to grid should be a default but it is MacOS which uses the Unix/BSD philosophy of 1 program 1 task so it is up to you to choose what you prefer.

1) I can’t believe this video isn’t from a 100k+ subscriber channel.. actually insane!!

2) I’ll never swap to just one OS (between mac and windows).. my portable set up is Apple (mac, iPhone, iPad Pro, Apple Pencil) but at home it’s all about the windows desktop🙏

Windows key + directional arrow to snap windows to different areas of the screen is one of my favorite keyboard shortcuts on Windows.

Really nicely put together video. I too am a recent Mac convert - albeit to a couple of older machines (2013 13" i7 Macbook Pro and 2013 15" Macbook) and I love them. Completely agree with all of your observations about window sizing and snap to gird etc. But, when all is said and done, I'm very happy with the move.

Thanks for making this video! I’m about to go into grad school and your video definitely was the final push I needed to switch to MacBook Pro. I had a surface book 2 for my undergrad (which was very expensive), but I didn’t have the best experience with it. Similar to what some other people said, I’ll keep my windows PC around for gaming, and use MacBook for everyday tasks. We are definitely in the same situation here because I have been using windows for a LONG time but at the same time I also have all the Apple products but the computer haha

I just got a an Asus Rog Zephyrus M16 a few months ago! The only problem I have had with it is that the fingerprint sensor stopped working, but just needed a driver update. It has been an amazing device! I would switch to the apple ecosystem but it would be really expensive and I'm already invested into the Samsung and Windoes ecosystems. Loved the video 😃😃

Great video mate. I wholeheartedly appreciate both OS for what they offer and it all comes down to personal use case. I too have been a life-long Windows user and I used to think that MacBooks were overly expensive and limited until I tried the M1 Air and I was blown away by what a thin & light notebook is capable of. I wasted no time in recommending and getting my best friend to switch over to the same specced MBP as yours, since he is a music producer and immediately after switching he was quick to point out how smooth, fast and bug-free the whole process is now.
As a gamer, I will personally still stick to Windows but I wholeheartedly standby the Apple Silicone.

I'm pretty set on getting a macbook soon in a similar situation to you as a windows user all my life.
So far it's seemed to me that the best option is just to own both. Even if that takes time to save - being able to have a good PC to game on and use all the programs windows has to offer is a must at this point - and windows PC's are outstanding with price to performance. Macs however win the laptop field by far. It also feels good to have a machine for personal and entertainment and one that works and looks different for getting things done.

Thanks for the video man, summed up the points from someone in a similar mindset to myself and helped solidify the decision.

As a part-time win developer I might argue on your speech about the app installation. I can dive really deep into this difference but I will try to be as short as possible. There are only 5-10 types of macs that are running the latest macOS (I’m talking about MBAir, MBPro, iMac, etc.). Each of them is sharing almost an identical processor. The Xcode is also only available on Mac (this is a program to code programs on Apple devices). So basically macOS developers can build their soft on their machines and distribute the pre-built app. With windows, you will never know what processor will be installed in the pc so this “long installation” is basically an app build process. That’s why windows is way more popular but way slower.

You are so underrated bro. I am also on the same page on switching to a Macbook just because i cant seem to find the same value in Windows laptops, as much as id want to.

I myself was a windows user since the age of 5, from W95 to present, and having my first macbook air m1 way back 2021, spurs a lot of questions, there were pros and cons, but one thing you can't take away from them was the trackpad and its build quality, apple sure does treat you on the aluminum unibody that you can't even compare to laptops at the same price point. another thing is that the trackpad gestures were just organic and good and well makes total sense, there were features you wish you had on a windows laptop. but as they say you dont game on a Mac, i still game on my gaming desktop but when it comes to document works, browsing and stuff, I find myself picking the MBA, ohh yeah, battery, I can just work with this thing the whole friggin day without plugging it in again to juice it up.

Nice video, I added Tiles for Window management and get those Window snapping back in MacOS. I also use AppCleaner to get all the configuration files off my app when I want to remove an App. Just two apps to look at that I find useful in my setup.
