So I worked a plan with family. No rent and sent $2000 a month to debt until it was paid off. Then saved for down payment for a house. I cashed out my college saving plan for my niece to pay for a used car cash. (secret, don't tell anyone). And I was not taken seriously by car dealerships. I said no to trips, worked two jobs. Put up with depression. BUT once I was finished paying off everything and moved in to my house, I was so happy.

Good job! It took me over 6 years. I will be completely debt free in 2024 . BUT. I had to increase my income (changed jobs twice, making 40k more now) to accomplish my goal, I am a single mom of two, I did it with one simgle job and last year I decided something got to give and we went on vacations again, bought some furniture etc (100% cash paid). I could have done it in less time, I guess, but I also needed the time to build a better relationship with money. Oh, and technically I have the money to pay off the rest of my debt in my Savings account. But the loan is less than 3% interest and I sleep easier knowing I have 3 months expenses saved.
Anyways, debt is gone soon and I am so glad when I close the loan 🎉 Debt sucks.

It took me 3 years to be off $36000 by getting a second job but I did it and will never go back! So proud of you and love the braids! PS: Those 6 haters are in debt and too lazy to fix it. Help them Lord!

Congrats on your journey. I just paid off my student loans in February and it took me over 10 years. I deferred my loans when I went back to school for another degree but now being debt free I dont ever see myself having debt again. I wake up everyday grateful and stress-free knowing I don't owe anyone.

If you pay off a debt, it falls off quickly now it falls off quickly now on your credit report. Usually by the next reporting cycle. A person would want to keep an eye on it. Great work! Student loans paid off in 2019. Paid for my car in cash. I’m retired.

Chile, I don't have any debt but I also barely have any savings or an emergency fund. I need to get my priorities in order, start on the side hustle, and get like you!

I am so proud of you, you are my favorite youtuber! I haven’t watched the full video yet but I know it’s going to be good. My husband and I are going through a similar journey we were in 63k in debt 7 months ago and and are down to 30k now. It’s definitely a sacrifice/struggle but the journey/end goal is worth it!!

I fortunately don't have debt but this is even just teaching me about financial responsibility and making me more aware of the way I spend and how I could live a more fulfilling life with money as a tool
