Hey thanks for this. I’m single with no kids but I still feel drowned in my 29k debt!

Don't be too hard on yourself. I have a Masters in Finance and got myself into debt, which I am now aggressively paying off. Just because you call debt "leverage" doesn't make it a legimitate part of one's finances. The feeling of not having debt (or in my case less debt) is amazing.

This is actually one of the best, more simple, easy to understand videos on debt. Great job. I appreciate you talking about the emotional side of things from a personal perspective, especially having a compelling "why." I've gone in and out of caring about paying off debt for a long time, but only in my most recent (current) attempt has something shifted within me to where I'm just tired of it.

Thanks for this. A really well-paced, scrupulously honest and brave explanation. Having that humility is so important, and feeling good about the process of paying off debt. I have a small debt to pay off compared with yours- but I'll take that humility with me as I do. I'm inspired and motivated. Thanks so much.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I have $72, 000 in debts and it's so good to see that getting rid of it is achievable.

Great story. I share many of your feelings on this subject.

Sue and I found ourselves $136K in debt on a $145K income. The thing was we were paying our bills but had nothing left over and not making any headway. Our debt was a variety of things, loans for our daughters college, cars, credit cards and personal loans.

Finally we had that moment where we had enough, that was March 2018. We did well paying off without much guidance. We did have goals and knocked off one thing at a time. In Sept 2020 we got stupid and bought a new car.

When the reality of the new car hit we started doing it Dave's way sold off a few items and got gazelle intense. December 7, 2022 made the last payment and finally debt free including our mortgage.

Our was 56 months seemed like a lot of misery then but now it is all a blur. Debt free works for me!

I’ve been a fool
With money . I know that now . God is going to help me get thru it all . Lesson learned finally . It takes me a while I guess . I’m a repeat offender. But it’s not to late ever to learn .

He has blessed me so much. I have no reason to doubt him. 2022 my whole family was in debt (including myself) the money I had in my bank account was nowhere near the amount I owed. It was however enough to clear the rest of my family. The Lord told me to break their chains and set them free. And so I did. They all cried but they all knew I was still in the lion’s den. I told them not to worry about me. I told them that God would declare his strength through my weakness. Not long after I won the lottery. I cried all day. But more than anything I was glad my family now lives by Faith and not by sight!!!!

The process of becoming debt free has shown me how much money I have wasted over the years. I have forgiven myself, & look forward to accumulating savings with the same vigor I have been paying off debt.

Wow that's crazy how you said when 2020 rolled around and everything shut down you were able to save money...I was the exact opposite...I flew so much that year and went to Las Vegas and to Washington multiple times to visit friends...I guess I spent too much money while everyone else was locked down and saving money!!!
