I've literally only ever used Q tips in 2 situations
- Putting them in my ear holes
- Dipping them in rubbing alcohol to clean old Nintendo cartridges

The fascinating thing with Q-tips marketing is we know they know, and they know we know they know.

I had a doctor in one sentence explain that it really is dangerous, can cause damage, and require further medical attention... And then admit that he does it pretty regularly.

Just like Q-tips working best for what they aren’t meant for, duct tape works great to stick everything together-except ducts.

Good thing there is closed captioning, so I can still enjoy your videos even with all these Q-Tips in my ear holes.

How can it be wrong when it feels so right.

There is seriously no other use for these things that would justify buying them in the quantity they are packaged in.

1:44 Ok so for the record, I'm this guy.

When I worked at a steel mill years ago, a lady came in to fit us for custom ear plugs. It involved injecting a sort of silicone mould stuff which formed to the ear (hence, custom). She would check our ears first to ensure no problems inside. She said mine were the cleanest she had ever seen given I worked in an industrial environment.

The trick is to know your limit, and when cleaning with them, slowly spin and pull. Never push and spin.

But don't put them in your ear holes.

Also, thank you for this video. I had just run out and needed more - this reminded me.

"I'm gonna put this in my earhole."

That's going on my tombstone.

Q-tips have millions of things they are good for like:

A tiny paint brush that will leave behind bits of cotton.
A glue applicator that will leave behind bits of cotton.
A cleaning tip for tight places in electronics that will leave behind bits of cotton.
And...
Uh...
Anything else where you desire to leave behind bits of cotton.

Like your ear holes.

My friend is an audiologist; a year ago I asked about it and she told me, "Yeah you really shouldn't... but I do." 😂

“Is not safe to do that!”

“Maybe for other people Yeah but I feel like I can probably do it pretty safely.”

*Literally what I think to myself every time I hear you’re not supposed to put them in your ears*

Fun fact: in The Phantom Menace, when Star Wars films still used practical miniatures, the crowd in the pod racing scene were actually made up of thousands of coloured Q Tips. Which I assume George Lucas immediately shoved in his earholes

That is great advice! ...for other people, cause I know what I'm doing.

I like how no other ideas were fielded because that is literally the only reason Q-tips exist.

I love that there's exactly two facts about q-tips everyone knows.
1: Don't put them in your earholes, that's dangerous.
2: Everyone puts them in their earholes.

I do appreciate the one Ryan that said other people are different and he could do it carefully enough to be fine because I'm pretty sure that's what we all think xD

In Hungarian, we call these "ear pickers". I was really confused as a kid when people told me, that I should not pick my ears with the freaking ear pickers.

I salute the bravery of Ryan for actually putting Q-tips in his ear holes for the authenticity of this video.

"Where does the q-tip go?"
"In the--"
"That's right, it goes in the ear hole!"
