it’s not about the highlights, it’s about their consistency

"he has to be tall..." No Yann Sommer is if I am not mistaken actually the shortest on the list and not tall for a goalkeeper at all 183 cm (around 6'0).

Ter Stegen is actually Germanys 2nd best goalkeeper. Manuel Neuer is just injured. Together with Gianluigi Buffon he is the best goalie to ever grace the beautiful game.

Fun fact: the first save we saw of martinez is actually a late minute save in the world cup final.

Ter Stegen is a german goal keeper playing for Barcelona.

A few years back Manuel Neuer would have been up very far.

Funfact, the No.1 on the list is normally only the No.2 of Germany National Team.

But this list is only for 1Year. A lot of good Keepers are missing. I would say Courtois is one of the best.

They are all awesome on the line and have outstanding reflexes.

The difference between top notch is, that the best can play football like normal players on the field in addition.

Take a look at best scenes of Manuel Neuer oder Courtois, Ter Stegen etc.

Neuer revolutionized the game for ever with his performance in the 2014 WC, never seen anything like that before, and thats why he is number 1 of all time

Allison Becker is always being spoken about as the best in the world for the last three years.. I'd have to agree he's saved Liverpool so many points.

I played as a goalkeeper for about 20 years and i can tell you that when your on the pitch it does not matter if its a sunday league match or the champions league final if the only way to make a save is to sacrifice your nose youre going to do it.

1:03 - In the UK, back in the 1970s, Peter Philip Bonetti (27 September 1941 – 12 April 2020) was an English professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Chelsea and England. He was given the nickname "The Cat" because of his safe handling, lightning reflexes and his graceful style. He was one of several goalkeepers who specialised in a one-armed throw which could achieve a similar distance to a drop kick.

7 (Alisson) is actually 1 for Brazil, while 6 (Ederson) is 2 for Brazil - I think both are great and definitely have their own qualities
Ederson has been critisised a lot for shakiness w shot stopping ("first shot on target will be a goal") but I think he's definitely improved, and he was amazing in the champions league final. His distribution is definitely his best quality though, especially for man city as a 'sweeper keeper', though that comes with its risks and rewards for sure, but he's so calm and composed.
Anyway, I'm definitely biased but I find it strange that Ramsdale and De Gea were ahead of both of them considering they both fumbled under pressure, and this video definitely prioritised shot-stopping, like it's all well and good if you can save an outrageous shot but if in the next second you pass straight to the opponent and they score it doesn't really matter. (+ de gea's contract wasn't renewed and he hasn't been employed anywhere else since, and ramsdale's team, arsenal, signed another goalkeeper and they're trying to do the 'two alternating starting keepers' thing but it doesn't look like it's working lmao)

there's one for ederson but I don't think it does him justice lol, definitely check out some rodri, kdb and haaland highlights though if you're interested, they all played amazing last season.

you should check out the german goalkeepers from the 90s and early 2000. i remember sitting in front of the tv as a child, terrified of oliver kahn. he was an animal. worth a watch.

All goal keepers are a special kind of people, no matter of football, handball, (ice) hockey or similar. You have to put your body in the way of a hard shot or thrown ball or puck and still keep your eyes open, no matter where you are hit.

Bounou should be up there, one of the best goalkeepers and helped Morroco progress in World Cup and Sevilla in Europa League.

If you want to look at the history of a goalkeeper, you should look up Bert Trautmann, a German WW2 POW who became Manchester City Goal keeper.

Hey guys just to give ya some context Martinez is a World Cup winner with Argentina. De gea was one of if not the best goalkeeper for a while whilst he was at man United think he also played for athletico Madrid might be wrong there tho. Ter stegen is an absolute monster in goal one of the best goalkeepers right now ino. Arron ramsdale is actually from not far from me, he’s a really good goalkeeper he’s still young he moved to arsenal from Sheffield United and he also plays for England national team. Ederson is a Brazilian goalkeeper who plays for Manchester City, I think statistically he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world right now too. Imo Germany produce the best goalkeepers you need to see if there’s a list of top ten German goalkeepers and watch there videos coz the things these men do are absolutely mental.

You need to watch a proper Alison Becker compilation - one of the best goalkeepers in premier league history!

I think espacially on the topic of goalkeeping it is more important to have control of the box and how you are alert every second and of course good reflexes do not hurt - but the highlight reel, na that is not important at all. And by saying that, yeah I think the list is close to be accurate - you can switch some positions, but it is okay. For me even as a German (Ter Stegen is from Germany) Courtois is the best keeper on that list.

Alison halfway through this season has the highest save percentage by this point in premier league history and the best xg prevented as well ever

David De Gea is Spanish and have made some of the greatest saves.Man United made the mistake of letting him go before this season.
Now you seen the amazing saves these goolies have made, how about reacting to their blunders, their biggest mistakes and misses. That is one of the reasons that Man United let De Gea go, he could make amazing saves but also just miss the ball or just drop it in. He will always be my number 1 goolkeeper.
