One thing you did right was heat the solution, that undoubtedly helps break down the scum. I am going to try powdered brewers wash(sodium percabronate).

I think you would have had better luck had you either used Oxiclean or bleach.

That soapy crap is going to stick to that residual stain.

Wow such a professional looking video but you lost me at boil the laundry detergent.  I found a video and the first tip worked for me! No elbow grease required by Ventuno Kitchen Tips.

Wouldn't vinegar work just as well without the smell or am I mistaken?

Half a cup of bicarbonate of soda (arm and hammer) in a pot this size... Bring to a boil, put the lid on, turn off the gas and let it sit overnight, if stuff is really burned on. For thrift shop finds, I will put it in a plastic tub filled with hot water/ammonia, put that in a plastic garbage bag so the fumes can't escape (I do this in the garage) and seal really well. Let it sit for a week or two.... To the lady in the video "LAY CREWSAY"?? take a French class...

Downvote for New Age (rhymes with "sewage") buzzword "toxic, " usually used in a manner that means "Oh noes, this is a scary word that means POISON -- we don't know really know if it's poison, but it sounds scary."

This method did not come even close to working on a relatively small burn. Boo.
