Quick Tip for Cleaning Burnt Food, from America's Test Kitchen

I have always done this to remove caked on food that's stuck to the pot. I also boii my water to clean my floors since I have off-white linoleum that stains really easy

Make sure the pot is completely cold before washing or, you'll warp the pot.

I've always done this with my cookware, it works well also with Revere Ware Stainless steel pots. God knows as a young cook, I've had my share of burnt on messes. Nowadays as a senior, I have become (thankfully )a much better cook🤣 A spray product by Dawn is now a staple in my kitchen since I have good quality cookware that is non stick granite interior, and my porcelain cast iron dutch ovens, but grease, spills down the sides of a pan on a gas stove gets to be a gummy or the burners leave several black stains. I used to spend time and alot of elbow grease cleaning those stains. Now, after cooking, I pre-spray with the Dawn spray and when I go to wash, I use a nylon scratch pad and the bottoms of my pots and pans stay looking brand new!

This works better if you add a few drops of dishwashing liquid, but be careful it doesn't boil over.

What about having black stains on the bottom of the pan?

Also, can put a dryer sheet in hot water in pot overnight, will wipe off

More residue will come off if you add cream of tartar to the water

I thought we weren’t suppose to was it while it being hot???? And can someone tell me how the heck I got my brand new pot stuck with food on the first time of use? Was it to high?

OMG, so greasy!!! I think you can also use Crocodile Cloth Cleaning Wipes! they can also help you and save your time! they can help you to remove grease and dirty stains easily!

But don't pour the junk that's in the pot down the drain, use a strainer !
