that peeling, rattles, gaps etc etc are not issues. Those are Tesla features.

2021 Model Y LR owner with over 51k miles. It has been bulletproof other than a loose rear view mirror that simply needed tightening. No squeaks, rattles or body panel fit and finish issues. We are so happy with the car that we just ordered a 2024 Y Performance model this past weekend. The $7500 tax credit and $1k discount to early Cybertruck reservation holders sealed the deal.

Love Teslas. I’m on my second Tesla now. Just took delivery of it last week. It’s a 2024 Model Y Dual Motor LR. Previous Tesla was a 2019 Model 3 Dual Motor LR. Some advice, make sure to trade it in prior to battery warranty expiring. I drove my model 3 135k miles, when I started getting the same battery issues. It wouldn’t charge past 30%. I brought it in for service and because it was out of warranty they quoted me $12k to swap the battery for a remanufactored one - including labor. Thought about trading it in, but, was only offered $4k trade-in value. Their reasoning was due to the battery issue.

Anyhow, because of the $7.5k federal tax incentive, the $500 NY state tax incentive, the $1k early Cybertruck reservation holder incentive, and the free transfer of FSD to my new model Y, I decided to go ahead with the trade-in. I took delivery of a black on black Dual Motor Model Y LR with the 3rd row seat and FSD was transferred to it.

Anyhow, again, my advice, trade it in before your battery warranty expires. They are great cars and I love them, but, once battery is out of warranty you’re taking a gamble.

When I had my Model 3, the 12V battery gave me an error and needed to be replaced. I since trade that car and got the Model Y :) Best decision for sure. We love this car and I hope I dont have issues with it. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I've had mine for four months. So far, absolutely no issues. Let's hope it stays that way.

wow they put a refurbished battery in your car while under warranty. Good to know.

It's a known fact, and a lawsuit, that Tesla lies about range estimates. They lie initially about total range, but more so after some use. Company fans needs to ease out on the praises. No car should have so many issues few years in, especially in that price range.

Tesla owner so happy with their car able to reach 100k. Toyota owners are so unhappy if their car have any issue before 200k. Lesson learn, To be happy. All you need is to set your standard to low junk. Then you'll e a very happy man

Air vents are obstructed due to the aftermarket carbon fiber dash cover you added, I've seen the button peeling on every used Mercedes I've been in, based on your own numbers, your replacement battery had the same or better range as the original. Draining your battery below 0% will also negatively affect capacity. Fit and finish of newer Model Y vehicles that I've seen look flawless, the build quality has been vastly improved. The Model 3 Highland is also a giant leap forward and I don't see anyone complaining about the build quality of the newer models.

I wanted to get a Tesla but they just haven't come far enough with the quality of their vehicles. Yes, the charging network is top notch but all the small problems just aren't worth the headache as they add up over time. I went with an ICE Lexus and I'll never have to worry about all the small annoying issues that take away from the experience of owning a luxury vehicle. It just made more sense for me, especially since I live in an apartment, work from home and don't put many miles on my car. In the future, I'll consider looking at Tesla again, or possibly another brand. Keep up the great content!

2 things I heard in the beginning that are misrepresented. Tesla tax credits ended at 2019 and only restarted in 2024. It is impossible for anyone who owns a model y to get a credit unless it’s brand new
2nd, just because you don’t have to stop for oil changes, you still have to get the tires rotated. Most owners forget this because they believe since maintenance is minimal, they don’t have to do any, this why the tires wear out quicker

Thanks Chris for the video! Being Asian, I can feel more Asian with this car as everyone in the SOCAL area with A+ grades have these lol.

I actually got mine on Saturday bro! MYLR! Love it. Appreciate your videos throughout the years. Been watching for years man. Definitely helped me on my purchase. Keep doing more videos. From your Asian bro, with B+ grades. 1x

I don’t know why people risk buying electric cars right now, especially out of warranty, I have a 2003 Honda Pilot with 263k miles and a 2002 Toyota Land Cruiser with 235k miles, neither have ever had a repair that cost more than $300, no 20k battery, no creeks or rattles, just reliability and high gas prices lol still wouldn’t trade them in for an electric car
