How to Treat & Reverse A Fatty Liver | Exercise & Diet Methods for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

Fatty liver disease can be due to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and can also be due to alcohol consumption. It occurs when fats infiltrate into the liver, which can lead to inflammation and subsequent scarring of the liver (leading to cirrhosis). Therefore, it is very important to treat and reverse a fat deposition in the liver to prevent scarring and cirrhosis. There are a variety of ways to treat, reverse and even prevent a fatty liver from developing, which we discuss in this lesson.

About 10 years ago I was diagnosed with Non-alcoholic fatty liver. I was always fatigued and had painful abdominal pain. I was drinking 6 liters of soda every day and not exercising. I stopped drinking soda, started running 2 hours a day and dropped 50LB. I eventually stopped feeling tired and abdominal pain went away. I was cured of fatty liver. I started drinking soda and eating fatty foods again but fatty liver hasn't returned as recent blood test confirms this (ALT & AST are in normal ranges). I continue to exercise every single day for 2 hours.

I did my blood test yesterday after 5 weeks of 100% no carbohydrates no sugar no fruits no starch no red meat diet. My Liver panel test result shown AST, ALT, GGT level all perfect! Far from its top range. Just 5 weeks. My fatty liver is reversed to healthy normal. I lost 4-5kg just from dieting and stop eating after 7pm till next day lunch. 2 meals a day. Only boiled using water, steam Fish, tofu, cabbage broccoli veggies, chicken breast, black coffee no sugar for afternoon lunch and green tea no sugar during evening dinner not later than 7pm. After 7pm I fast till next day lunch 12pm. The fasting time is extremely important as this time allows digestion and some hunger which makes our body burn the fat within without exercising. Exercising barely able to reach the fat around our liver. So fasting is the effective way. I had No milk (contain high fat and high sugar) . No snacks. No all kind of bread which still are carbohydrates. No omega fish oil. No cake. No biscuits. No rice. No noodles. No fruits especially as it’s fructose are directly process only by our liver! Just 5 weeks and fatty liver is back to normal with proven liver function blood test compared to my previous test result 5 weeks ago. I feel very lively light and positive. I lost 5kg. Also My cholesterol and sugar level were also extremely good blood test result! I m looking way younger and my body is nicer too. I m 33 years old male. Non smoker non alcoholic. Didn’t work in a toxic environment. I didn’t exercise. But I ate much rice, fatty red meat, and milk and cookies and fruits. I slept late before. Now I kicked those bad habit n bad diet. After recovered from fatty liver, I continue my way of eating n fasting n sleeping time. I reintroduced some healthy carbohydrates back into my diet. Such as some corn carrot, some wheat bread, potatoes, some fruits, some rice. Remember not to take fruits everyday as fruits are high in fructose which cause diabetes. Please make sure u do not overdo it. I really mean only some. Lack of discipline and taking it for granted will cause regrets. Legalon supplement is useful as well. I’m sharing for mankind and for those who were helpless from useless doctors. And I’m sharing in memory of my late father who passed away due to end stage liver disease.

Months later I did followed up on ultrasound and report shown my liver is perfectly healthy, also my kidney and pancreas and gallbladder. Since then I resume back to normal diet which include some fruits and carbohydrates. I continue to exclude fast food, oily and unhealthy food. Please bear in mind that fruits and carbohydrates must be consume in moderation. And fruits cannot be consume everyday to prevent diabetes!

I have kept all my blood test and ultrasound comparing before and after report. And I will continue to test yearly.

Nice video. Thanks. Avoid completely junk foods, processed salty goods, sweets, ice creams, greasy, too spicy foods. Taking Vegetables, fruits, rice, lentils, legumes helps. Main thing is to avoid fried junk sweets, processed foods.

Help needed
I was diagnosed with Nafld 8 years ago. 2 years ago had my gallbladder removed and the surgeon said my liver looked terrible. Now it's getting much worse I feel very fatigued and my liver is swollen😞 . I've had to stop working and everyday is a struggle. I need ideas 💡 for simple low carb Mediterranean meals and tips from people that have had success reversing this. All help appreciated 🙏
P.s I'm not going to the doctors because I've had all the tests and scans and I know they will say the only treatment is lifestyle changes

Its important to note that Omega-3 fatty acids have shown some benefit in my experience as well as Milk Thistle and NAC (n-Acetyl-cysteine). I usually tell patients to drink orange juice for potassium as bananas only have a miliequivelent per inch and I also recommend lite salt which has a mixture of NaCl and KCl. Potassium supplements that are commercially available only supply 99mg of Potassium which is roughly a fifth of a miliequivelent. As for vitamin E, I usually recommend from a food source like wheat germ oil. By the way, when telling people to eat fish, tell them it CAN NOT be fried!

Other unknown cause of fatty liver can be your own auto immune system, stress anxiety etc. In that case meditation needs to be included with your healthy eating style
