In terms of the Ford Explorer, the engine would actually run for many years if it was the pushrod ohv engine despite the low power the engine makes and I have not seen many complaints about the brake pedal issues and the engine refusing to start on hot days for example. Also, 14 recalls isn't bad in the slightest compared to 1 million of them if you are actually smart enough to think about it.

The ironic thing is, I remember seeing a ton of people driving these cars back in the 90's. So while awful, most of these sold really well. A lot of stupid consumers out there.

I had that 1996 Taurus GL with that anemic 3.0 liter Vulcan with just 145hp ate transmissions.

90's cars were mostly uglier than a baboon's ass with a few perfectly-contoured beauties here and there. NSX, Mc F1, F50, XJ220, 300z were ok. The Choncord being compared to an Aston is just hilarious 😅

Why did you show a Ford Taurus in the thumbnail and not discuss it?

The original Suzuki Vitara/Sidekick had no room for people in te back, despite having back seats. The trunk could only be entered by dismounting a whole tent. The X-90 solved all these problems by removing the back seats and offering a real trunklid. So why is it a bad car? Just because of the odd looks?

I am guessing you are like a Toyota and Honda fanboy. They had some real stinkers in the 90. Take the mid 90s Tacoma for example. Toyota had to do a voluntary buyback or frame replacement on these for rust. Not even the 90s, but you think 7 recalls are bad? My 11 Camry had 12 I had not even received notification of when it was totaled last year. Yeah, give me that stratus and it was NOT replaced with another Toyota.
