The best thing about your channel is that I do not have to put your videos in some kind of "best tutorials" repository like bookmarks or playlists, no, I just have to go to your channel, search it for any topic and 10 minutes later - give or take a few minutes - I not only watched the clip but got the work done in blender. Thanks so much!

After adding the physics you can select the cable and Object > Convert to > Curve . Then on Object Data Properties > Geometry > Depth, you add thickness. And if you want to convert it to mesh again go to Object > Convert to > Mesh.

Great tutorial, it will spare me a lot of time.

Just discovered this channel. Love the brief, straight to the point clips without a preamble. Thanks!

Really nice. Really integrates the systems in a basic way so a noob like me can understand and learn.

he doesnt mention it, although he should. but u can get the vert option in the add mesh menu by searching "extra" in addon. and then add everything that comes up.

Me encantan sus tutoriales. He comprado el libro y es genial! Pero me hubiera encantado que esté en español también. Espero puedan actualizarlo. Mi felicidad sería completa 🙌

This is dope! Not sure if there’s any pointers for this, but I’ve found it can get a little goofy when one end of the vertex group is animated - the cable will stretch between those vertices.

Inside Blender, a Cable preset would be nice for hanging or dropping cables.

Awesome tutorial! How would I get one of the ends to move in an animation?

Hi great video, I want the cable to have collisions. How can I do that??

An unfortunate trade-off using the Skin Modifier for surface volume. Smooth shading is only a rendering cheat - when textured, the cable still reveals sharp corners. To get a geometrically smooth radial surface we have to use real cylindrical geometry or the generated bevel surface from a curve - but the Cloth Modifier only works on mesh geometry. The extra geometry of a mesh tube requires much more calculation for the Cloth Modifier, and tube geometry will collapse under a Cloth Modifier.

That’s so cool! Is there any way to attach something to “slide” on the cable as well?

Cool stuff but how would you simulate this using geometry node setup?

This is using cloth. But if I using soft body, can it work?

Hello, Thank you for this video. Is it possible to have collisions? I tried but it didn't work. Thanks
