By using "Fit to Curve" in Array modifier, you don't have to care about the count anymore and just form the curve to your needs.

Why do I always find the tutorials I need AFTER I finish the project?

I've been trying to make an industrial vacuum hose for a whole day and screwing it up everytime. Thank you for this!!

Cool, you can use this same technique for a wire but cut the torus and off-set a selected ribg of it using proportional edit.

Applying objects to curve is the biggest pain haha. It only works half the time because either something is rotated incorrectly or the origins are in the wrong place. Even after making sure scale and rotation is applied. I ended up just getting cablerator so I don’t have to deal with it.

Thats why i couldnt get the array to work on the curve. Thanks. I was able to get the array to work but it would follow the path. It followed its own path.

If I wanted to use this to create the legs of a tripod from war of the worlds (2005 version), would I still need to use bones to be able to make it walk?

Question: can you then attach the curve to bones?

Worked the first time, now when I use curve modifier it scales it super small.
*My current solution is just to create everything in the world origin, parent the mesh and path, then move it where I want and edit the path accordingly.*
-Dunno why it demands that, I got it to work once before without parenting so idk what changed.

If i have both objects at the world origin, when I move the curve along any other axis than the one it's deforming to, it'll get small. If both at world origin, and I apply rotation for cylinder, it works well. (good)
However after I move something:
If I move/apply everything for mesh, the mesh it'll mess up the array but keep scale.
If I move/apply apply everything for curve, mesh gets small.
If I apply both, it's a combination of both effects.

Even if I don't apply curve somehow it's messing with the scale.

I love that channel, thank you for the tips

I would use the screw modifier instead of a cylinder for extra control

I tried this but once I apply the path as the curve it'll stack the array by the edge rather than the face and I have to try and rotate the segments into place but they'll still be only touching by the edge.

Edit: Nvm it just randomly decided to work after I bitched about it.

How to solve my problem in less than a miute

How can i make it so that i can move the end of the tube but the other end stays in place?

Why not use just a simple curve with bevel depth, adaptive subdivision modifier on it, and do the corrugation with height displacement?

Can this be animated, I mean the curve points... so that I can just use this, instead of rigging

This channel is much appreciated. Forgive me, but there’s a flaw in this method. When all is finished, the corrugation deforms (along the curvature), making the shape ultimately unrealistic. A great trick— for something quick, like an animated scene or film. Not so great if you want something modeled true-to-form.

i do this but the vert count gets too high :/

How can we make curvy roads same like this effect

Nice, but it does not solve the problem to export a model. Youtube just ignored my search for armature.
