Thank you windows.old was taking up 21.9GB, and a Windows temp download was using 3.19, and the windows 10 install was 2.25GB. I got rid of them all. This was awesome.

How long does the old Windows staying on your computer? Is it 30 days or 10 days after the upgrade to Windows 10? I had Windows 7 but upgraded to Windows 10 and i like it very much. It starts very fast and it closes quickly. And no more troubles with finding the driver for mine hadware. I can now plug-in a piece of hardware and Windows 10 immediately sets it up withouth finding the drivers etc. Very nice. If I would choose between windows 7 and windows 10, then I chose windows 10. A great OS.

Before you delete it, you must check if you have some important stuff in there, for example some videos or photos or some other documents in that folder. cus when people have over 20GB size of folder, there is something other than windows

Thanks! I just recently bought a new PC and it seemed like it wasn't windows 10 from the beginning so this helped me remove whatever windows it had before! My local disk is still pretty full though... and it keeps on getting full even though i'm not installing anything on it. It was kinda my fault though since i didn't really notice how much space it had until i started using it.

Hello, I upgraded to windows 10 recently and everything seems to work great. The only issue I have ran into is not being able to delete preexisting files/folders prior to the upgrade. Will deleting Windows.old cure this issue?

Make sure y'all get all your videos, documents, pictures, and music files out of your windows.old folder first located in the users folder, some of your games can be recycled, just copy them to the new hard drive or space you want to put them, most of your games and programs that can be recycled are in the program files folder, when you move them to the new hard drive space make sure you open each game and make a shortcut on the desktop making a shortcut from the games .executive file or .exe file. There are two program files folders, one says (x86) the other just says "program files" You might have to download windows frameworks and stuff to get the games running perfectly again, but once you get all the correct c++ files and stuff, you good to go, peace!
