What is the Windows.old Folder - Can You Delete It?

When you update your kernel in linux, there are also leftover .old files with an older version in case stuff goes terribly wrong

The stock videos was very useful to understand the video, please use more stocks videos Joe. I don't think I would understand the video without the paid stock videos.

You can also delete it in settings too, this happened when I downloaded the new windows 11 update, which then I had 20gb of space left so I needed that 16gb

If you have just upgraded Windows to a newer patch, be sure to check all your software working as it used to immediately. Windows.old folder doesn't stay there forever for you to rollback to the previous version. My work laptop had a newer patch for Win 10 and it broke some audio drivers which I didn't realize until too late. When I tried to rollback, Windows.old folder had been deleted automatically (I think its after 10 days)

You can delete it by go to the Settings - Storage and check the storage when you installed the Windows 11 or 10

You do not need to run it as administrator. You could also do it through storage sense. Like I said, you don’t have to do it as administrator. I do this all the time for clients.

Without the admin privilege it just only allow to clean cache and temp files

I did all of the steps that you said but when I am in the disk clean up app it doesn’t show the previous windows installations how do you fix it

I have that same folder with my files from my old c drive. I dont delete it because its really useful

Or go to settings / system / storage / temporarily files and deleted it
