Kids should not be outed to their parents without their consent you could put a child in real danger because of this

For many years, Samuels have chosen to be called "Sam", Abigails have called themselves "Abby", so why can't trans/non-binary people be referred to as their chosen name?

If a teacher outed me to my parents, I’d be living on the streets by now 😰 This is why I don’t tell anybody except my friends

I am non-binary, in my 50's and my legal 1st name is Jerri. That's the name I was given at birth by my Mom and Dad. You would not believe how many people over the past 10 years or so have insisted I named myself Jerri because I am queer.
I have had people who spread rumors I was born male. I am AFAB. Infact, someone outed me in 2011 on social media, but were made to legal take it down. It got ugly.
To be outed as a child would have been devastating. I grew up Mormon and it would have resulted in shunning. I would sue if I were the parents of this child. Perhaps after a few hundred people do, the law will be history.

“It’s legally Monica”
It’s legally Joseph but he goes by joe. It’s legally Kendall but she goes by KJ. It’s legally Alison but she’s goes by Ally. It’s legally George but he goes by Ed. No one has to go by their legal name and most don’t. These are some examples from my personal life.

I'm an educator and I don't care what I'm told, I'm not outting any kid to anybody.
They are human beings and I'm going to treat them as such.
Keep going with this channel, you're a gift!

No one gives a damn about calling anyone their legal name unless it's a trans person...

“Well legally it Monica.”
“We can change that!”

Why is it that people are perfectly happy to use nicknames for cis people but not a trans person’s chosen name?

Her duty is to teach kids! Not potentially put them in danger!

These forced outing bills are very dangerous, the ones for it think that kids shouldnt need secrets when those people are why they have secrets. It opens venues to anusive situations. As well as, not allowed to have nicknames?? The heck? That's just asinine.

When ma’am busted out the “legally” I was about to throw hands. As a nonbinary child myself I would have hated to be outed to my parents and no one deserves that .

In my state we are actually legally prohibited from outing kids to their parents.

The look of fear at the end once the parent asked who the supervisor was 😂😂 I loved when my parent did things like this when I went to school

Teachers like these are a danger to kids.

That is super dangerous, my mom had threatened me when i was 12 during "the talk" that if i ever come out as lesbian or get pregnant that she would kick me from the house, since she has actually "helped" to kick a gay cousin who was also a minor i took her threat seriously and kept my sexuality and identity to myself. To this day she doesn't know and won't know as any parent that is willing to kick a minor into the streets with only the clothes on their back isn't a real parent, that's a monster because not even animals throw out their young.

“Well legally it’s Monica” yeah and legally it’s Johnathan but you’d still call him Johnny if he asked you to
