I mean if students find it uncomfortable, it's also their right to discuss it and express their opinions (respectfully ofc)

Unfortunately, a lot of the boys in my highschool run into the girls' bathroom, look under stall doors and then when the teachers tell them off say, "Well I was trans whilst I was in there."
It's a very uncomfortable experience. Also, I'm fine with actual trans people using whatever bathroom they want, just not these lads who are both perverted and mocking trans people!

“these people’s feelings are more important than everyone else’s feelings”

Yes because teaching students that they should shut up and deal with being uncomfortable in the bathroom is something we want

If a student is uncomfortable with a type of person in their bathroom, they have the right to tell people they don’t like it.

As long as im alone in my cabinet, respectfully, dont care. Dont know how others can care so much.

If students are uncomfortable, their voices should ABSOLUTELY be heard

You're not removing their rights, you're giving then extra rights that take priority.

All she wanted to do was talk. Not remove rights. I think the responsibe action IRL would be to educate.

You cant tell someone they cant speak to the school about something that makes them uncomfortable. Also the rights of the other students are also important.

As a trans person myself, for once I do actually understand the other side of the conversation. Many guys have "came out as trans" when it was all a sham to get into the girls bathroom for... yn why. It's a completely valid fear for many women. I'd say personally that for trans youth in schools that for a while after coming out as trans they should have acess to gender neutral or birth gender bathrooms, and after a month or two they get access to their preferred genders bathroom. It may sound harsh and be hard for others, but I'd say it would probably be best for all sides that way

As a non bianary, I agree with the 1st person. A lot of people don’t feel comfortable with trans or non bianaries using the same bathroom as them, especially in gym where you have to change out. My school has a gender neutral restroom where there are only stalls with a mix of toilets and urinals which I think is the best option because it’s all stalls so no one is uncomfortable

As a mom who has a young daughter who is 8 years old I would be extremely uncomfortable if my daughter told me one day that a boy went into the same bathroom as her I would be pulling her out of that school immediately.

This just motivated me to work hard, make enough money to home school my kids.

They just arbitrarily decide who's comfort matters the most.

What a horrible response to just say"no". People have a right to ask questions and gain information about their children's conditions. Don't make policies you don't want to talk about.

Saying something is not up for discussion is what fascists say. Everything is up for discussion in a free society.

Telling a child no when they have voiced a feeling of being uncomfortable is absolutely absurd and horrific, all people deserve to be listened to and the right to feel safe, rules don’t need changing but perhaps they just need someone to discuss their feelings with.

i do understand the other side’s concern. at my school there was this group of cis dudes that were plotting to sneak into the girl’s bathroom to harass the girls and would just claim they’re trans if they were to get caught.
of course, inclusivity is amazing, but individual, gender-less bathrooms would probably be the best solution for everyone.

edit: i think yall are skipping the part where i said *individual*

yea lets completely ignore young girls and womens concerns for safety and, even better, call them bigots for it just for the sake of ✨inclusivity✨
