Vs 1

Be still, my soul the Lord is on thy side! Bear patiently, the cross of grief or pain. Leave to thy God to order and provide, in every change his faithful will remain. Be still, my soul they best, thy heav'nly friend. Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Vs. 2

Be still, my soul thy God doth undertake to guide the future as he has the past. Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake, all now mysterious shall be bright at last. Be still, my soul the waves and winds still know. His voice who ruled them while he dwelt below

Be still, my soul, the hour is hast'ning on when we shall be forever with the Lord. When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone. Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored. Be still, my soul, when change and tears are past, all safe and blessed we shall meet at last

When I came across this piece of music and it indicated that it’s Pastoral Care for the Sick, I thought how a propos it was to sing this beautiful piece of music to a couple of people that I go visit every week. These two people are nearing the end of their life _ one has stage 4 cancer and the other person is 97 y.o. and is somewhat deaf and blind. Since I am not too good at reading notes, I am very grateful for your ministry, Christ, for helping me to learn how to sing this song and all the other songs. May God bless you and your family abundantly.

This beautiful hymn was taught to our choir by our wonderful director. Due to unfortunate circumstances she left us to take care of her ailing parent in a different country. The pain we felt at her loss is was profound. I would record every lesson and have over 7 years of her teaching us many beautiful hyms. This one in particular is one of my favorites. I can still hear her beautiful voice singing this to us and we were all stunned by the beautify of the words and her voice. Thank you Chris

I've always loved that melody, it always brings me to tears. Now another beautiful hymn put to the music. Also, I want to thank you for your YouTube posts. I'm a Cantor at Most Holy Name of Jesus parish in Elmira NY. However, I dont read music that well, so I use your uploads to help me learn the hymns, psalms and gospel acclaimations that I'm not familiar with. You have a wonderful voice.

It was great to meet you! ( though it was by mistaken identity at the NPM convention hallway, haha! ) Thank for always being here to help me become a better Cantor at my church. Hope to see you again in KY in 2020!

Hi! Is there any way to get the chords you’re using? I’ve seen sheet music on it but I’m wondering if you added your own. I’m trying to learn it like you! TIA
