Join me in an enlightening conversation with Dr. Michael Greger, a leading expert in lifestyle medicine and bestselling author, as we explore longevity and how to achieve it. We'll uncover how diets rich in whole plant foods, as seen in the Blue Zones, contribute to a longer and healthier life. Dr. Greger shares evidence-based strategies from his latest book, "How Not to Age," addressing common misconceptions about dying from old age versus disease and emphasizing the role of heart disease as a primary cause of death. We'll also touch on essential health topics like autophagy and the importance of legumes in our diet.

Dr. Greger dispels myths about air frying and discusses healthier alternatives for obtaining omega-3 fatty acids, given the environmental contaminants in fish. We delve into the importance of fall prevention through exercises and balance training, and explore ways to maintain youthful skin through sun protection and a diet rich in colorful fruits and vegetables.

Health care costs are out of control. Going WFPB vegan can save money, pain and suffering from disease.
Lower your chance of high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer by going vegan. Hospitals, doctors offices and schools should be places where good nutrition is taught and provided not places that contribute to disease and obesity. It is crazy the hospitals are feeding people the very food that caused the heart disease, high blood pressure or cancer that they are treating. Every person in the hospital should receive some nutrition education before being released. Every doctor visit should be an opportunity to educate patients about how food choices impacts their health outcomes. The fact that doctors do not get nutrition training as part of their training makes no sense. Medicare and Medicaid should require nutrition education as part of patient care. Focus should be on food choices, stress reduction, improving sleep and daily exercise.

Heart disease is the number one killer of people today and cancer is number two.
Being over weight is the number one factor leading to an early death.
People who are over weight have higher risks for high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
Even children today have signs of artery disease. Fast foods and sugary drinks have long term consequences.
There is an obesity epidemic today where over 60% of the population is overweight or obese.
What is common today and "NORMAL" is not healthy. The average person today is not healthy and is taking medications.
Heart attacks were once only common in people over 65. Today people in their 40 are having heart attacks.
Add more plants and vegetables to your diet and less junk and overly processed foods

Dr. Mike does not look like a young dude to me - in fact, he is younger than I am. Sorry - you have to look the part to walk the walk. Anti-aging and reverse aging are reflected in the body, not just the so called blood panels.

I am 46 year old doctor who looks 30 and feels 16 and I am launching anti aging book who by vascular age is 17, telomere age is 24 and eeg age is 27- I find it amusing when people who talk about anti aging aren’t representing it- my book is on Amazon launching in August

Dr Greger 's approach to hormone replacement is appalling--very little inclusion of relevant research, cherry picking from the WHI, which was based on the use of synthetic hormones and has been retracted even by its authors, a disdainful disregard of the enormous physiological differences between men and women, the lack of research using female subjects, and on and on. He appeared to simply be too lazy and uncaring and possibly afraid to do the necessary work on this topic, but just glosses over it in his otherwise excellent book
For shame, Dr. Greger!!!
