Now, I love the Tasty channel as much as the next guy (I've even been convinced by these cutesy ~90 second videos to actually try a few of them, with varying results), but I can honestly say that this is one of the most useful videos I've ever seen from this channel. I've watched more food videos than I care to admit (many of them from Tasty) and I hope that the good folks producing these videos stay in the habit of helping people figure out HOW to cook, rather than WHAT to cook, because the shorter length makes them really accessible to the not-so-culinarily-inclined folk like myself. Thank you @Tasty

What is the best pair of tongs for picking up small and low profile foods without scratching the pan? We have a pair that was supposed to do the job but I haven't been able to pick jack up with it. Does what I am looking for even exist?

The searing thing is a myth, as long as you do it long enough with the right oils and not MASSIVE chunks of meat, it's fine.

Two things to add/edit: The high heat only applies to gas stoves. Electric or induction stoves are much gentler. Nonstick pans also have shorter lifespan, than most other styles, so be aware of the age and state of the surface!
