I'm worried about DUNE

DUNE, the new film from Denis Villeneuve, has a problem. It needed to be a great film, but instead it's just a very impressive "OK" film. On the last day of TIFF 2021 (Toronto International Film Festival) I also watched Medusa, a Brazilian film about reglious fundamentalists not liking it when people party in the woods.

I thought it was a terrific adaptation that streamlined the incredibly dense novel into a compelling narrative. The visuals, score, and performances took the film to the next level.

Experience has taught me anytime I bring my high expectations to a film, I have already sabotaged my sense of fully enjoying the film on first viewing. I can still enjoy the film, but not as much as if I’d gone in completely ignorant of what I am about to watch.

You should try to give a more positive title. Adaptation of one of the greatest novel and you choose to focus on the 'problem' on title...🙄

The first book of dune is literally played a million times over by any other scifi, it's the 2nd-4th books that hit hard.
