After leaving the cinema watching Dune 2 with the boys, there sat a little mouse on the floor and one of the boys called "it's the mouse from Dune", then I said "it's Muad'Dib" and suddenly everyone shouted "Muad'Dib", pointing at the mouse. I'm not ashamed to admit that I had a Mead spiral notebook full of quotes from the Dune books as a newly minted teenager. I thought the quotes at the beginning of the chapters we're the peak of philosophy and would guide me through life. They were pretty nice.

For example "Parting with friends is a sadness. A place is only a place." So deep.
